J U P I T E R
Strolling out of my bedroom to the living room, I noticed my coffee still on the dinning table. I can be forgetful sometimes. I can't leave with an empty stomach though. My body is built like a bull's and I have a huge appetite which was quite unsavory but I don't care.
I picked up the cup, about to sip and welcome the taste of cold coffee when a strand of curly hair blocked my way, making me drink the coffee with it in my mouth. I groaned in frustration, feeling like smashing the cup against the wall but it wouldn't solve anything. Taking a deep breath to calm my nerves, I set the cup back on the table and went back to my room.
"You got to see this, Jupiter! I found the girl on social media!" I heard the distinctive voice of Joey called out from his room. I can imagine him sitting before his table, his face trusted at the computer as he does his dorky activities every morning. Which was stalking our clients.
"Give me a sec!" I replied before pulling the suitcase with me and dumping it in front of the exist door. I went back to my small room and stopped to check if everything is in order. Realising I wasn't missing anything, I quietly shut the door and got out of the room.
My shoulder bag was left on the sofa carelessly in a rush to get myself ready and not miss the plane. The used blanket on the sofa facing the TV was hanging carelessly and the TV was still on. I sighed and placed a hand on my hip. Is this how Joey is going to take care of the house when I'm gone? I don't know why but I feel like I'm taking care of a baby all over again.
Matching to Joey's room, I silently knocked twice before opening the door. As I predicted, Joey was sitting on a chair before his laptop on the desk, his glasses perked on the bridge of his nose and a bowl of popcorn on his thighs. He was wearing nothing but a pair of boxers and a stained white T-shirt. His room was as messy as he is, the bed unmade, the closet wide open with his clothes scattered on the floor and the smell from saturating the room makes me gag.
I can't believe this is the same man that keeps a trail of beautiful young women. Dressing his best and pulling on his jaw dropping looks, off he goes but at home, he barely baths in three days. Blessed with charming looks and a talent in seducing women, it was quite the opposite in reality. He's a completely different man at home, more of like a teenage boy who spends his time playing videogames and depending on Mommy. In this case, I'm the Mommy.
"Oh God, Joey! Your room smells like there's some dead animal. Make sure you clean up your room before I return." I grunted with my fingers blocking my nostrils as I step away from the dirty pants on the floor.
Joey swivelled his chair to glance at me. "Okay, Mom." He sarcastically affirmed before turning his attention back to the laptop. "Her name is Amy Huber, she's twenty and will turn twenty-one soon, she's a second child and first daughter to Mr and Mrs Huber, two wealthy business owners. Amy is an aspiring fashion model with over two hundred thousand followers on her social media account and damn, is she a sex goddess." His eyes suddenly lost the sparkling in them. "Unfortunately, she's engaged to some wealthy businessman. Maybe you should take a look."
Just as I raise my head to look at the picture, my phone started ringing from the inside of my bag. I quickly searched for it before it ends. Finally finding it, I realised it was Dad calling. Probably to check whether I left or not.
"Hey, Dad." I whispered into the phone. "Sweetheart, how are you? How have you being? Are you on your way to the airport or about to board the plane?"
