Beep beep~

Areum's alarm clock rang as she groaned and made her way to the toilet and quickly did her morning routine. She headed to the dining table and took a toast as she said her goodbyes to her Aunt and lazily made her way to school.

"Areum!" someone yelled as she quickly finished her toast and turned around. Jungkook waved at her as he started running over to her. "We go to the same school! Let's walk together from now on!" he smiled as they walked to school.

Areum just nodded, not bothering to say anything. He started talking, and once in a while she would engage in small talks with him. It felt nice, being able to talk to someone..

When they arrived at school Areum helped him to find the General Office as he collected his timetable and other notes. They made their way to class as Jungkook kept squealing, "Can you believe it? We're in the same class for everything, I'm so happy and excited!" Jungkook exclaimed as he began hopping around.

Areum just nodded as she headed to class and went to the last row and sat down. Jungkook realised that she was the only one in the last row as he sat next to her.

She quickly put her head down signalling that she didn't feel like talking. "Are you okay?" Areum looked at Jungkook as he asked, his face filled with concern and worry. She just nodded and looked away.

"How come you never smile.." She heard Jungkook mumble to himself thinking she wouldn't hear it.

But she heard it loud and clear.

Why can't I smile?
