While Melissa and Chris went to the kitchen to talk Francis and Mary looked at each other confused.
"Did the lady said 21st century, Francis?" Mary asked
Francis nodded trying to look confident, when that was the least thing he was in that moment. They were in a time that didn't belong neither to him or to Mary. He didn't have answers for anything and he was alone with the woman whom he loved above everything else but also the woman who scared him the most. In conclusion, Francis was scared.
"It seems like she did, Mary" Francis answered uncertain.
"And what do we do now? We can't stay here, we have responsibilities, two countries that need us. Francis! What will we do?" Mary asked rising her voice tone slightly.
"Mary I know that! I am as confused as you are, but we can't do anything like this. I don't know how or why we are here but maybe it was for the best." Francis said
"For the best? Francis have you lost your mind ?" Mary asked
"No, but maybe we are here for a reason"
"What reason, Francis?"
"I don't know, but we need to find out and work together to get back to our time" Francis said
"Do you expect me to work with that couple?" Mary asked
"It's the only option. Our only option. Mary, you need to trust me." Francis said right before Melissa and Chris returned to the backyard.
