After finally realizing the small detail he had missed the whole time he gets himself together in order to put the last piece of the puzzle in place.
Flashback to when they were in library
Clemont: Hey Ash look at this
He shows him a picture and under it was written Diana Charles.
Ash: Give it to me.
He takes the book with a haste and look for the name he has wanted to see by scanning through every page.
At last he found the name, Ken.
He read the whole page but still wasn't able to find the information that could give them anymore lead.
Sighing he dropped the book and turned around to look through other shelves.
Flashback ends
Ash: Serena help me!! Let me get to the gravestone.

Suddenly as if magic happened the fog cleared and he at last was able to see her figure in front of him, her pale eyes giving no emotion at all. He quickly got up and ran towards the field. He was panting, his breath was heavy but none mattered right now. As soon as his eyes landed on that specific gravestone he started digging as fast as possible.
Ken: (with anger) Get away from her.
A loud noise filled the place and a giant hit of wind made him stumble. His hands were bleeding but still he continued till he at last reached the bottom and cracked the wooden coffin open.
Ash: (yelling) Ken I know why you are doing this to us but please listen to me.
Ken: (With thunder) No you are going to die right now and I will take her with me.

Ash: (his head drops on the gravestone in order to talk) Please just once.
Serena: (Not her voice) Ken listen to him and let him show it to you.
Ken: Di-an-a?
Serena: No I am not her but people say my voice is like hers so please listen to him.
Ash: Ken she never betrayed you. She loved you truly.
Ken: No she didn't. She betrayed me.
Ash: Then look at this.
He holds his hand and in his hand is a small locket. He opens the locket and reads the text. "I must take my sin with me to the other world. I loved him but still betrayed for my father. I shall forever perish in hell and my soul shall always be alone in the depths of the unknown. "
Ash: She loved you. It wasn't her fault.
Serena: She never got married. She rather took to feeding poor and chanted prayers for you and for world peace.
Ken: S-h-e (the thunder stops and now he is becoming small till his figure tranparent)
Ash runs towards Serena noticing that she was about to fall. He catches her on time and let her rest in his arms.
Serena(opens her eyes): Ash? Did you hurt yourself? Why is your head bleeding? (She tries to move herself but is too tired to even be up)
Ash: I am fine. Don't worry about me. Just rest okay. Everything will be fine. I am here. (Pulls her up and keep her head on the crook of his neck)
Ken: She loved me? (sobs)
Ash: Yes she did. If it wasn't for the world then she wouldn't have done so. So please believe me and let us go.
Ken: I- Take care of this girl. She loves you. I believe now I can rest in peace.
Ash feels a sudden moment on his body and notices Serena moving and standing up.
Serena: (in other voice) I am so sorry. I never meant to do it. I love you.
Ken: (shocked) Diana?
Serena nods.
They smile each other and then with a wosh a gust of wind appears and Ash catches her again, this time his girl.
Gray: (Shouts) Just stay there we are coming.
Ash (mumbles): Not like I have anymore strength left.
May, Gary, Clemont and Korrina came in just some seconds and while the girls handled Serena they boys took Ash by arm.
Gary: So..?
Ash: Safe.
He lets out the last word before fainting.
Several Hours later
Ash's pov
I came back to my senses and though those bruises hurt as all I tried getting my back on the bed board instantly realizing the weight shifting beside him. I smile looking at my baby sleeping so cutely.
Ash: (In mind) She must be tired of holding my hand like that. Aish my throat hurts so..... where is the water?
He looks at the table beside and grabs the glass filled with the much needed liquid. Since he shifted a bit too much, Serena opens her eyes. She rubs them like a cute adorable baby.
Serena (In low tone): Ash?
Ash: Oh sorry did I wake you up?
She nods. She brings her head to his head to check for any changes in temperature and fortunately his head wasn't as hot as before.
Ash: Sere-na??
She looks at him and he crashes his lips on her with one of his hand pulling her up while the other is one the other side of the neck. At first they were kissing slowly since both had wounds but it turns into a passionate one as soon as he cups her neck even reaching his thumb to her sweet spot, rubbing it.
