Kaminari POV

Closing my laptop, I stared at the wall in shock. Sero was going to die because of me. I wanted to love him so that he wouldn't suffer anymore but I couldn't fake having feelings for him. I only thought of him as a friend.

"Something happened to Sero!" Todoroki screamed from down the hallway. I heard multiple doors opening, their inhabitants rushing out to help.

I pushed my laptop onto my bed, sprinting down the hallway to get to Sero's room. Something had to be terribly wrong. Almost every boy that was close enough to hear Todoroki was crowded outside Sero's door.

I pushed past the crowd, checking the door to find that it was, fortunately, unlocked. I rushed inside to find Sero curled up on the floor coughing so hard he didn't have any time in between to breathe.

"Help-" He choked as roses bloomed from his mouth. Roses had begun sprouting from his forearms as well, blood-stained petals falling gently to the floor.

Todoroki forced the crowding boys out of the room leaving just me, Shoji, and Sero inside. Shoji yet again, took Sero in his arms, attempting to wipe away his tears as he got up to get help.

Horrible choking noises escaped from Sero's mouth, the roses blooming from his mouth preventing him from being able to breathe. He grabbed onto one of Shoji's arms frantically trying to get air into his lungs without success. Fresh tears welled in his eyes, his pain clearly visible on his face.

A shiver went up my spine as Sero gasped for air. He coughed one final time before going still in Shoji's arms. The roses had finally suffocated him. His love for me slowly and painfully ending his life.

I screamed as Shoji brushed a strand of hair away from Sero's lifeless face.

"SERO!" I screamed, his death was like a shot to the heart, tears of my own sliding down my face. I watched helplessly as Sero's body was taken away, the smell of roses filling the air.

Everyone who knew what had happened to Sero developed a hatred for roses. The flowers that had ended their fellow classmate's life way too soon.

The sight of roses brought back images of the flowers bursting from his mouth as he suffocated but I couldn't bring myself to hate the beautiful flowers. I had brought on the Hanahaki disease. In reality, I was the one who had killed Hanta Sero.
