Hey guys! This one is shorter than usual, but I hope you like it! <3

"Cover for me," Richie said as he slid out the window. Since he was grounded, there was no way his parents were going to let him out. He was going to have to sneak out in order to talk to Eddie. He stepped on the roof and jumped on a tree, then proceeded to climb down it clumsily.

"Hey, Eddie," he said, running up to his boyfriend.

"Whatever happened to 'Eddie Spaghetti'?"

Richie raised his eyebrows and looked at the ground. "Well, you're pissed at me, so I figured it might not be the best time." Eddie pulled at the sleeve of his shirt self-consiously. There were a few moments of awkward silence between the two before Richie said something.

"I'm sorry. What I said back there was insensitive and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I was frustrated. Please don't be mad at me ... my little heart can't take it, Eduardo." He grinned at Eddie, who was obviously trying to hold back a smile from 'my little heart can't take it.'

"I'm sorry too, Richie."

"What are you sorry for?"

Eddie gave him a small grin. "For hurting your little heart."

Richie sighed and pulled him into a hug. "I love you, Eds."

Eddie blushed. "... I love you, too."

Mike, who had been watching the whole thing from the window, grinned. He knew there was no way Eddie was going to stay mad at Richie. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. "Richard, can I talk to you?" Their mother's voice said.

Mike panicked, then quickly threw on a pair of Richie's backup glasses and a random Hawiian shirt. "Yeah, mom?" He said in his best Richie voice, opening the door.

"Richie, what's going on? This morning you were in such a good mood and-" She looked at his eye. "Where did your black eye go?"

Mike responded in the least panicked voice he could muster. "Uhhh, I used some of Nancy's concealer on it."

Karen raised her eyebrows. "Huh. I wouldn't of thought you guys were the same shade. Anyway..." She went into a long mom speech about keeping a positive attitude and setting a good example for Holly and blah blah blah ... Mike couldn't focus. He knew that any minute Richie would be climbing in through the window and getting them both into trouble.

All of the sudden, a miracle occured. Holly started crying and calling for their mom. Karen sighed.

"Richard, we will talk about this tomorrow. You're grounded for a week."

As soon as she walked away, Richie slid in through the window. "Hey, nice outfit, Mike! What'd I miss?"

Mike threw off the glasses, collapsing onto his bed. "You're grounded for a week."
