"NO, PLEASE!!!" Sophie screamed as she saw Edaline strapped to a chair with Fintan right behind her. With a blur of  a hand, Fintan put his burning arm on Edaline.

Edaline screamed, but she yelled out as she held Sophie's gaze, "LOOK AWAY, SOPHIE!" With desperateness in her eyes, she shrieked as Fintan didn't let go. But Sophie was strapped to the chair, the bonds chafing her hand and leaving them bloody. She just stared, as Edaline was sobbing in pain.

"You don't need to look," Edaline's soft voice whispered so that Sophie and Fintan heard. Realizing that her inflicting didn't work, or any of her abilities worked, with the pendant strapped to her head, she plead out to Grady with her mind, even though her telepathy didn't work. Where was he?

Sophie was crying with guilt, but she quickly masked it away as Fintan put another hand on her mother's left shoulder. Feeling a blinding rage in her stomach, she twisted her bonds to try to get out of them, but they just bled more.

Her hope diminished and she shrieked, "Please, she didn't do anything!" Pausing, her throat scratchy, but Fintan kept his hands on Edaline. Edaline's high pitched wails, pierced the darkness with her sobs, and Sophie didn't look away. She wouldn't. "It's me you want!" she cried out. Fintan, his first time looking at her, turned his  head and let go of Edaline.

Thousands of questions ran through her mind, like where was Grady? And how come no one had her and Edaline screaming? But that was irrelevant right now. No one was coming. Her mother, just gasped out, her eyes bulging like a tremendous weight carried off her shoulders.

Edaline doubled over with the burns on her arms and shoulders, a reminder to Sophie that she failed her. Havenfield was silent as ever except for her adoptive mother's ragged breaths.

Fintan breaking the quietness, crept out with an eerie voice, "You're right." He turned away from Edaline, bringing himself over to Sophie. "Wait, you wouldn't want to see this." A smirk tugged onto his lips and Sophie felt her heart plummet. to the floor. With a quick snap of his fingers, Edaline was gone. The chain still hung on the chair, but she was just gone.

Sophie rasped out, "Where did you send her?" Dread spread through her face as if she braced herself for Fintan to say "Neverseen" but he didn't. She wondered, since when was Fintan a conjurer, but that was helpless right now.

"Somewhere," he stopped a smile on the corners of his lips. "Safe." He reached out to burn Sophie but, he stopped his arm midway in the moment. "She wasn't what we wanted." He let out a quick breath. "You are, though," and with a final pause he forcefully clamped his hand on her thigh. With his other hand, he snapped the bonds away. Sophie felt her heart beat profusely in fear.

Fintan's right hand neared on her back tracing small circles, his left still on her thigh. But he still had the smirk on his face. Her black leggings were scorched with holes, and Sophie was immobilized, maybe because of Fintan or in fear of him or pain. Her mouth was trembling as his arm leaving her back, draped on her waist, fire in his eyes. She couldn't look him in the eyes, too afraid to see the look of control in them.

Tears moistened her eyes, until she could bear the pain no more. She released an agonizing scream, which made her scream even more. Her thigh screamed in pain like no other. "HELP ME!!" She screeched out, to somebody, to anyone who could stop the torture.

Fintan's arm traveled from her thigh, up to her hips. Sophie immediately stopped, realizing what he was doing. She looked up to his face, despite her minds telling her not to. There was something like lust in his eyes. Sophie embraced the pain, and her mind quieted down the torture, shoving it deep into her mind.

Fintan was too close, his face too close to hers. She could feel his breath on her neck, and her heart screeched to a stop when she saw the look on Fintan's face. It was like he was in control, like she was the prey, meant to be eaten.

She still couldn't move, but her lips trembled when a cold arm, slid up her tunic, and put his hand on her bare stomach.

Torment blinded her eyes, as all she could see was spots in her eyes. She kicked him, but that did nothing. She shook and trembled, but nothing stopped Fintan from moving his hand up from her stomach and on her bra.

The burn of the fire, burned her more like anything else before. She let all of her walls crumble, as the pain came back to her mind. There was too much agony, that black spots began to cover her vision. At that moment, Sophie vowed never to let anyone touch her like that again.

Dizzy, from all the pain, Sophie noticed that Havenfield was moving. Sophie thought it was some kind of earthquake, but that couldn't happen in the elvin world. Could it?

The lights flickered on and off as cups and plates from the cabinets toppled over. Fintan turned back to her letting her go with murder in his eyes. "What did you do?" He angrily yelled at Sophie.

Flinching, Sophie gave herself a moment,  registering the aches and stings lingering from the burns. Another rumble went through her house. She took a deep breath and calmly said, "I didn't do anyth-"

Fintan interrupted her, shoving his burning hand on her throat with cruelness in his eyes. The skin on her throat burned every second Fintan put his hand there.

He was choking her as well as burning her. She couldn't breathe, turning dizzier every second. "Tell me, what did you do?" He yelled the last word, and Sophie's eyes started to burn. She patted Fintan's arms, to make him let go, but it was a pathetic attempt to waver him.

Sophie made out an unintelligible word, and Fintan turned livid. The skin on her neck was peeling from the burns, and she still was blocking her mind from the pain.

The house thundered again, and again, but Fintan still didn't remove his hand. The floor rattled, and something changed in the air. It was like an illusion and worn off, but Fintan was still there, but with the next voice she heard, made her heart swell with hope.

"READY, FIRE!" Grady's voice boomed, and with a loud explosion. The door flew open and she saw Grady and her friends standing with their powers like a weapon. Fintan saw and put both his hands on her, his anger powering the fire. Sophie tried to hold the pain, for her, for her friends, for Grady, but it was inescapable, and with that she had no air, nothing. Her vision subsided and her head rolled back as she was swept unconscious.
