The chains dug into her wrists, forcing her to wake up in discomfort. Her ears kept ringing, and she didn't want to wake up, but the events from before made her open her eyes. Elwin drugged her, had sedated her.

She woke up to a blaring white light hung above from her, with thick chains coating her body. She sat upon a chair that secured her ankles, her neck, and her wrists from moving and the weight of the chains kept her from squirming. The room was like a dungeon, except the only light came from the light above her. It was hot in the room, like it was a summer day in the human world.

She wanted to scream, but her mouth was shut from a sort of elvish duct tape. She craned her neck and saw, about a hundred foot above her, windows. And in those windows were Mr. Forkle and Fitz. Standing next to them was her telepathy mentor, Tiergan and by his side was Alden. Mr. Forkle was staring daggers at her and the others looked uncomfortable but still had a steely glint in their eyes. She was frightened by the thought of all of the known Telepaths staring at her but she stopped those thoughts when Mr. Forkle spoke. The walls were made out of steel, unbreakable, meaning to trap someone in.

Despite the windows and the distance between them, his voice was clear and not muffled in any way. "Bring the physician and Mr. Tam in here." His voice had no warmth. She tried to reach out to Fitz and looked directly at him, but when she tried to enter his mind, to transmit to him, there was a blocking.

He was blocking her. She tried not to dispel the hurt on her face, but even he looked a bit guilty. Tam entered, brooding and mysterious as ever bringing the shadows with him as he walked and behind him was Elwin. She wanted to scream at him, but most of all she wanted to ask them what was going on, because right now she had no clue what was going on, or what they were doing.  She looked at Alden and then Tiergan, but they just looked away.

What did I do, she wondered. The clamps on her ankles, likely to leave bruises, dug onto her skin. "Mr. Sencen, would you please come here." ordered Mr. Forkle. Her eyes swept to the end of the windows, and there looking disheveled and a bruise on his face was Keefe.

He looked at her and he mouthed a quick "Sorry" to her and he walked to Forkle, nervously. Sophie didn't get why he had said sorry, but he walked until Mr. Forkle spoke again, "Did Ms. Foster, or did she not, show you her memories of Fintan?" It was like Sophie was the suspect, and Mr. Forkle was the jury, except in this case, Sophie began to think, there was no fair end.

Not meeting her eyes, Keefe nodded.

"Did she or did she not Mr. Sencen?!" Mr. Forkle said with a hard tone.

"Yes, she did." Keefe waited for someone to say something. Fitz turned his gaze away from and looked at Keefe. His teal eyes looked betrayed and Sophie felt her heart break a little. They were Cognates, after all.

"And what did you see?" Mr. Forkle questioned.

Keefe, looked helpless as he made out, "I think you should see for yourself." Sophie was relieved, but also anxious, did she really want all of them to know what Fintan had done to her? She didn't.

"Very well," confirmed Mr. Forkle. "We shall intrude her mind, and I want Fitz to hear her thoughts, and-" He looked at Keefe, but he skipped over him. There would be a too strong emotional bond between them, Forkle thought."Keefe, could you bring your father out here." Sophie's heart plummeted.

She never wanted Lord Cassius to feel her emotions, her feelings. Even Alden, Fitz, and Tiergan were surprised but they didn't dare to say anything. Her forehead was plastered in a sheen of sweat, but she didn't know if it was from the idea of Lord Cassius infiltrating her mind or the temperature in the room.
