It's been two weeks since the monsters killed off all the demigods, except for me. It's been two weeks since all the remaining Giants and Titans and evil Primortals killed the gods and took over Olympus. It's been two weeks, and the world has gone to schist, Earth in utter chaos, destruction and danger lurking at every corner.
Typhoon was at full power, wreaking states in a five second span, and since Hecate was killed, the mist didn't shield mortals. They saw everything, and couldn't do anything against the chaos.
I knew all of this couldn't have been my fault, but things would've turned out differently if I had just saved everyone. I could've saved Annabeth.
I flinch and push away all of my thoughts. If I started processing everything that happened, than I most certainly wouldn't survive another day. I was in an eerie state of numb shock, my mind on auto-pilot as I saved as many mortals as I could, one by one.
I pulled a screaming woman out of the way of a hellhound and slash upwards, the monster turning to golden dust.
After fighting for hours on end everyday, my stamina increased, but that didn't mean that I was invincible. Long Island was filled to the brim with hellhounds and empousai, and one particular empousai managed to disarm me, Riptide being launched ten feet away from where I was sitting.
"Wanna kiss?" Kelli hissed before launching at me, baring her fangs. I scramble back to my feet, ready to run, when she suddenly turned into golden dust.
Soldiers with black armor swarmed in, immediately fighting all the hellhounds and empousai. All the soldiers had a white star on the back of their armor. Who are they?
I look up and see a giant whirling portal with all types of aircrafts coming through, dropping off more and more soldiers. I'm glad that they're here on my side, because they fought like demons. If I thought that I was a good swordsman, these soldiers were the elite. I was a minor compared to them.
I felt a force lift me up into the air and drag to to the biggest airplane. Even with the gods gone, I was still skirmish in the air. I squeezed my eyes shut, my hands clutching my "shirt". My camp shirt had so many rips and holes that I might as well just take it off; it wasn't covering anything.
I felt my feet touch solid ground, and I reopened my eyes.
"Hello, Perseus."
"Percy," I correct, turning to the voice. The guy seemed to radiate power. He had pitch black hair that looked like it was floating, like wind was constantly going through it. What caught me off guard was his eyes. They were the color of galaxies, stars and planets revolving around each other in his eyes.
Weird.
We just stared at each other for a good minute before I finally asked who he was.
"I am Chaos."
I blink three times, stunned, before dropping on one knee and saying something intelligent like, "Um. . . Hey."
Seriously, what do you expect me to say to the all powerful Primortal that created the universe?
"Don't bow, I hate that," Chaos said in amusement, smirking before turning serious. "I'm in need of your assistance, Percy Jackson."
I straighten up from my bow, confused. Why did Chaos need my help? Chaos turned on his heel and walked to the nearest window, viewing Long Island.
"Earth is one of my favorite planets, being the first that I created. It pains me to see it in such a state. If you agree, I'll send you back in time to try and prevent this future. But, a lot of things may be different in the past. Like, you would be my son, and there would be a different son of Poseidon. The time line may be accelerated or slower."
I gap at Chaos, not expecting for him to say that. "Why me?"
Chaos glanced at me, raising an eyebrow. "I don't see any other demigod alive at the moment. Do you?"
I flinch and looked down at my ruined Camp Half-Blood shirt.
"I've been watching you for some time now, Percy. I believe you are perfect for the job. . ."
My eyes stayed stubbornly glued to my orangish black shirt.
"You could save them, Percy."
I look up at Chaos with wide eyes.
"You could save them all. I can give you a second chance. You just have to accept the deal."
All demigods could be saved. Luke, Silena, Beckendorf, Zoë, Bianca, Annabeth, everyone.
I couldn't pass that up.
As if hearing my thoughts, Chaos turned to me with a smile. "I'll send you back in time as a 16-year-old, and change the Great Prophesy to 14, so you can never be considered as the child of the prophesy. Knowing your luck, you would somehow still be the child if I don't change it up a bit."
I nod along, not even denying my bad luck.
"As my son, your scent will be stronger than one of a child of the big three. To solve that, wear this black ring at all times while you're in the mortal zones. Just give the ring a twist for armor and a sword."
I examine the ring Chaos gave me. It was just a simple black band, nothing special or recognizable about it. That was probably the point.
"Are you ready, Percy Jackson?" Chaos said, opening a portal for me.
I take a deep breath and nod, walking to the portal.
It'll be a blast from the past.
I step into the swirling portal, a white light flashing and filling the room.
Welp, too late to turn back now.
