I was in a plain white room. No windows, no doors, no clue where I was.

"Percy."

I turn around and see Chaos, my dad, in all his chaotic glory. He looked sad, guilty, as if he had done something horrible. Something went wrong with the time travel, I bet.

"It's been an honor, having the experience of being a dad-- your dad --after so many years. I didn't interact with you much, and I apologize for that," Chaos said, ranking a hand through his floaty hair and sighing.

"This is a warning, son. Have you ever wondered why you never met a person half mortal and half Primortal?"

I shook my head, not knowing where this was going.

"The reason is because they all die. Primortal blood isn't compatible with mortal blood, it's simply too strong, too powerful. Your blood is at war with itself, and one side will win over the other.

"If your mortal side wins, you will die from fatigue. If your Primortal side wins, you are changed into a Primortal. However, with your body in such a weak state, your body can burn up in transition to being a Primortal. . ."

"And I die," I finish softly, my head spinning with the new information. I had, what, a 30% chance of living?!

"And you didn't think of telling me this before you sent me through that portal?!" I hissed, anger boiling. "All you gods, Primortals, whatever! You all are the same! Tricking demigods into doing your bidding through half-hearted promises of rewards!" I yell, resisting the urge to cuss at the creator of the universe.

"Percy, please," Chaos begged, face screwed in pain, "I'm sorry, I forgot that this would happen!"

"You forgot?! How freaking convenient!"

"This only happened once a millennia ago! Please believe me, Percy! I never wanted for this to happen! If I had known, I wouldn't have made you half mortal! I would have made you half god half Primortal! But it's too late, Percy. I'm sorry."

Tears welled up in my eyes. After all that I've fought and came out victorious over, my own blood would finish me off.

"How long do I have until it starts?" I ask, my voice cracking unattractively.

"It has already begun," Chaos whispered. "You have 2 years until your body makes its choice."

My throat tightened, a sob threatening to come out. I was used to having my life on the line, but this was just too much. There's only so much that I could take.

"I'm so sorry Percy," Chaos whispered, tears in his own galaxy eyes, the stars in them dull and faded.

I watch the scene around me fade into darkness, all the light vanishing.
