December 25th, 2000.
Missy stood at the gate of her house and looked at the lantern next to her, which was the only source of light. There was really little snow this winter and now the situation was similar. It was even nice.
— Will Bob come?— Georgia asked and pulled her mother's hand. — When is he going to be?
—It's coming soon, dear — Missy replied and took a deep breath. An hour ago she talked to Bob and he was supposed to arrive at 6:15 pm
Missy looked at her electronic watch - it was 6.20 pm. Geldof was late.
Well, 5 minutes is nothing. If he doesn't come in twenty minutes, me and Gi will go to Mary.
Missy did not allow herself to be that Bob's invitation could have been a mere malice. A cruel joke, he would have staged her.
He may be a sarcastic Irishman, but would he be so mean at Christmas? If so, I would change my mind about him for life. I would think about him as bad as possible.
Then Missy saw the car's blinding lights from afar. She heard the horn and Georgia said:
— It's probably him, Bob!
Missy felt her stomach clench with excitement. She was beginning to regret that she agreed to all this.
—Come on — Georgia pulled her mother's hand. —Come on, momma.
Missy followed her daughter, who approached Bob's car. Geldof waited leaning against the driver's door and greeted them:
— Hello, beautiful ladies.
—Hello, Mr. Geldof — Georgia said politely. —Thank you for inviting me and my mom.
—It's a great pleasure for me, little G — Bob winked at the girl who rolled her eyes.
—I'm not little anymore, sir — Georgia explained. —I'm ten years old, and this stupid nickname ...
—It was never stupid — Missy said tenderly and put her hand on her daughter's shoulder. —Such diminutive is proof of love.
— I know, mom. It was Dad's idea ...
—Very creative — Bob chuckled. — Yog has always had interesting visions.
— You probably also call your daughters affectionately, Robert — Missy said as he opened the door for her and Georgia. —Right?
—Maybe — Bob said, and then closed the door. When he sat on the driver's side, he looked from the rearview mirror towards Missy: — My daughters have their original names and that's enough for me, Michelle.
— Yes, I even know their names — Georgia said and smiled broadly, which gave Bob the impression that he was seeing Geórgios. — Fifi, Peaches, Pixie and Tiger.
