Jai’s POV:

It was about lunchtime and I was in the kitchen making a sandwich when Beau walked in yelling about the fact that he had a great idea.

Apparently his great idea was for a prank we could play on James, Daniel and Luke. He decided we should make it into a video for our YouTube channel. The prank was to make them think that the house had been broken into.

James, Daniel and Luke were out of town for the night because of a party.

Beau and I started to set everything up by knocking over tables and chairs. In the middle of this, Jai got a text from Jade.

Jade: Hey babe could you come over? Feeling sad, need company xoxo <3

“Hey Beau, I have to go see Jade.” I yelled across the room to Beau.

Beau ran into the room. “You can’t go now, we are in the middle of filming a video.”

This happened every time that I had to go to Jade’s. There was always some reason why I couldn’t go.

The boys didn’t like that I spent so much time with Jade. They don’t think I’m committed to our YouTube channel as much as I was before I started dating Jade.

They didn’t understand. They had never had a relationship like Jade’s and mine. The way I felt about Jade was different. I had never felt like this before. My happiness on hers and at the moment she wasn’t happy and I needed to change that.

I ran out of the door before Beau could stop me and I knew I was going to pay for it later.

I hopped in the car and started the ignition. Jade’s house was in the suburb over. It would take about half an hour.

Jade’s POV:

I had texted Jai and he was coming over. I just had to wait half an hour until he came. These were always the longest half hour to go through.

I kept seeing the blade in the corner of my eyes. I was intrigued. I wondered if it would feel the same way. If it would give me the same satisfaction. I wondered if I could go through the same guilt that I felt the last time that I did it. I wondered if it would be the same.

Then I thought of Jai. I couldn’t do it to him again. Last time he went crazy. He broke down.

I can’t put him through it. Not again. But I had to do it. I wouldn’t show him. He wouldn’t know. I would only do it once. Just to get rid of the urge.

I went into the bathroom and grabbed the blade. I grabbed tissues to clean up the blood.

I guided the blade across my skin. The blood seeped from the cut. My anxiety seeped away with it. I loved the feeling…but I knew I was going to pay for it later. But I didn’t want to think about that at the moment. At the moment it was just about relieving the pain.

When I finished, I got the tissues and cleaned the blood off the blade. I put a hoodie on and just as I was about to take the blade back to the bathroom, Jai stormed in…
