Have you ever had a dream when your falling and just before you hit the ground you wake up?

Well this is nothing like that.

I woke up falling from the sky, I was headed straight for a body of water, that I was sure of and I'm sure there was a lot of other things happen around me but I must admit I can't quiet recall what any of what it was, I was more focused on falling to my doom.

At first, I thought it might have been a dream, but that idea was out the window within seconds, it all felt too real.

The ground was approaching fast but truthfully not fast enough, it wasn't one of those things where you blink and its happened and you wake up dead, no, I had to experience the awful prolonged feeling of falling.

The second I hit the water the air was pushed out of my lungs and all I could feel was pain

The cold water did little to sooth the feeling and all I could manage to do was stay still while my body yelled profanities at me but soon the burning sensation in my lungs exeded the pain of the rest of my body and I kicked up to the surface

I was greeted with a warm wind and calm seas as I greedily gulped as much air as I could in

But life is very cruel and I was only giving seconds to calm down before my next problem arose

Something slithered along my leg quickly making me panic, I stiffened before thrashing my body around trying to get away from whatever lied benieth me

I looked down, but all I could see was the lovely blues of the water, yet another second later the same feeling,

Before I could get too far, I was stopped by an Icey grip on my ankle

It was undoubtably a hand similar to a human but as it ripped me downwards with super strength I started to guess that maybe it wasn't so human after all

I wriggled and thrashed but all I could really do was watch the surface get further and further away

I kept myself from letting out a scream as I looked down and saw...... Something, it looked like a mermaid, but I felt crazy just thinking it. It was just like all the fairy tales but so much darker.

What kind of nightmare had I landed in?

It turned its face towards me and seemed to smile, maybe it was just showing its teeth, that was enough for the adrenalin to kick in and I began kicking with all my strength, trying to rip out of its hold but my breath was running out rapidly and was that more of them swimming towards me?

I stopped moving, was this it? Was I just going to give up? Yep.

I had a good run I guess. I strange noise between a whimper and a shriek left my mouth as the water clouded with blood

I waited for the pain to strike through me but it didn't come, the blood wasn't mine

It was the mermaid who was clinging onto me, its grip loosened and I kicked away from it, it was one of the other mermaids that had saved me but as it swam at me I realized it was only a fight for food, I grabbed ahold of me and raced deeper and deeper into the darkness, my ears hurt and I used the last of my breath trying to equalize as we raced downwards

My eyes closed and I relaxed my muscles, I felt tingles racking up my body but before the darkness could consume me I was lunched from the water and I landed on something hard, my head knocked off of it but it didn't matter,
