After a sleepless night Tink and I started training before the sun was up, we tried sword fighting but gave up quickly, we tried shooting with a bow and arrow but all the times I hit the target it was just dumb luck

Tink made me practice different holds and how to get out of them but my mine was too preoccupied to take anything in

For the last hour now I've been hearing noised from the tree line, like someone was out there watching us train

"you can't tell me you didn't hear it that time!" I turned to Tink

"nope" she said lounging on the ground sharping her daggers, "now back to doing laps"

I huffed and began jogging but I only got a few steps before I stopped again, "I'm being serious I hear something!"

"remind me to check your ears when we get home" she mused

I didn't like her referring to the tree house as our home, it made me wince

She stood up and stretched out her arms, "well let's go"

"but I thought-"

Tink didn't give me time to grab my weapons, she'd started dragging me over to the trees and climbing at an alarming rate

Something was wrong

"hurry up" Tink hissed as I paused

"Tink this isn't the right way-"

Tink silenced me and moved quicker

"what's happening?" I asked in a hushed whisper

"if you think that someone was watching us then there was probably someone watching us" she muttered, jumping even faster

My thoughts drifted to last night

I decided I wouldn't think about it

At this point I was struggling to keep up with Tink as she raced along the branches

She stopped suddenly and moved closer to the tree's trunk, her hand reached out and grabbed a fist full of my shirt and dragged me towards her, the leaf's hid us slightly better here then out on the branches and all we did was wait

We were silent, the only noise was our quick breaths

I was too scared to say anything and Tink seemed to be waiting for something

We sat there for ages and I was starting to doubt that I'd heard any noise in the first place

I opened my mouth but snapped it shut when movement on the ground caught my eye

Two boys walked silently through the thick shrubs

Their quietness scared me, they could have been anywhere, and I wouldn't have heard them

Does that mean I heard them because they wanted me to?

I was also quite impressed that they could move so fast and so soundlessly

they moved on quickly, not sparing us a glance

Once I was sure they were gone I looked to Tink, "if you knew they were watching us why did you wait so long?"

"I didn't want them to know I knew they were there, then they might have attacked, they looked to be just spies but lost boys are known for their impulsivity" she stated simply

"oh" I said

"if you think about what your actions might do, you'll stay ahead of the boys, cause and effect" she shrugged

I nodded slowly

"come on let's get back home, it's probably best we stay inside for the rest of the day"

We made it back to the tree house, slowly and quietly and had a boring day, I slept mostly and Tink did whatever she was doing at her little desk

When I woke up the sun was just setting and Tink had made some food for us, while we ate, Tink explained the island some more, it was becoming a habit, whenever we ate she told me stories or explained more things

"it was probably good that they saw us, they think there one step closer to finding our house but really now there just looking for us on the opposite side of the island" she mumbled with a mouth full of food.

"did they spy on you before I got here?"

Tink frowned, "I guess they didn't, I've been here so long I guess I got boring, but now that you're here the boy king has something new to play with"

I frowned

"I just mean that he didn't see me as a threat but now I'm taking his lost girls, he's curios and angry, he likes to control everything" she shrugged

"he sounds like a two-year-old"

"he acts like one as well" she chuckled, "sometimes I think I'm dead"

"what do you mean?"

"when your stuck in a nightmare long enough it just starts to feel like punishment, it makes you wonder what you did before Neverland that could have caused me to deserve this"

Tink often said profound and scary things and just tossed them over her shoulder like they were nothing
