In the world, it is said that there is a red thread tied to your little finger, and that thread attaches a person to their potential soulmate. The two people connected by the red thread are to be destined lovers, regardless of the place, time, or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it shall never break.
~
Yoongi sat alone in a small, quiet cafe. The red thread sat just as lonely on his little finger. He had always wondered who his soulmate would be, but now, all he can wonder is if he even had a soulmate at all.
He was currently 27 years old and still had not even once seen his potential lover. Most of his friends have already found theirs.
His closest/childhood best friend Kim Namjoon found his soulmate in middle school. First-year of middle school, shall I add. He was linked with the most popular, and the most good looking guy on campus, Kim Seokjin. It was Seokjin's first year going to this school and he immediately finds his soulmate.
Both of his old high school friends Matthew and Taehyung- who was also called "J.seph"- found their soulmates just after their first day at university. Matthew met Jeon Jiwoo when he was walking across campus to one of his classes, and J.seph met Jeon Somin when he was on his way back to the dorms. Jiwoo and Somin were both very pretty girls. Both have been best friends for a while and were happy that Matthew and J.seph were good friends as well so that they could go on double dates and whatnot.
Even his youngest friend, Seo Changbin, found his lover as well. They met when Changbin went on a trip to Australia. He told him that after they found each other, they spent most of his trip together to get to know each other better. His soulmate- Lee Yongbok (also called Felix)- moved to Korea a few weeks after Changbin returned just to be with him. That lucky son of a bitch.
So here Yoongi is. Sitting in a small cafe in the heart of Seoul, drinking his coffee, scrolling through his phone, staring at the red thread leading somewhere he will never know, contemplating if life is even worth living anymore, and wondering how long it would take him to find his soulmate. He thought that he would own a unicorn before he even looked at his soulmate.
Yoongi finished his coffee and left the cafe. He shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked down the sidewalk through the crowd of people all dressed in business suits. It was fairly cold today so he had worn a puffy black coat and a beanie. He kept his head down as he walked, just wanting to get back to his warm and cozy apartment as quickly as he could.
Soon he reached his apartment building and walked towards it. He went up and stopped at his door so that he could retrieve his key. He unlocked the door and stepped inside. He removed his shoes, jacket, and beanie and walked over to his couch. He lied down onto it and placed one of his hands behind his head and rose his other hand up to look at the red thread. He sighed and wondered what the person attached to the other end was doing. How they were feeling. He hoped that they weren't sad or as lonely as he was. If they were, all he wants to do is to comfort them in his embrace and to whisper sweet nothings into their ear. He would spoil them to death and always be there for them to hug, to kiss, to hold, to get mad at, to cry with. He wants to be the shoulder they can cry on and be the arms they can run into when things are making them feel down or even when they cried with tears of happiness.
