Moving on

It had been a long week. Tenko had quite a bit of furniture to move out (mostly equipment for Neo Aikido), but the time finally came. The evening Tenko was leaving the academy.

Brisk, marmalade sunset light laid upon Himiko's tears as she gripped onto Tenko's shirt. The Aikido Master had always been annoying - at times, extremely overbearing - but Himiko, in the long run, didn't mind that. Tenko was always there for the Magician. That's all that mattered. She was a friend.
But seeing her go broke her.

"T-Tenkooo!! What will I do without you?! *Hic*"

Kokichi watched from the apartment stairs as things unfolded.

"Himiko... I... I-I..!" Tenko finally snapped.
"I don't want to leave you!! Not at all!!" Both of them were hysterically sobbing at this point. It reminded Kokichi of the time he had to leave his organisation, to pursue his dreams at Hope's Peak.

--

"Hey, Kokichi, are you crying?"
"W-What?? Of course not, Amai..." Kokichi tried desperately to hide his sadness.
"Man, we're as good at lyin' - and sensin' lies - as you are. Give it up. We're gonna miss you too."
"Tochiro... not you too..."

Kokichi felt his organisation's warm embrace surround his trembling body. He let himself cry. For one of the first times in his life, he let himself break down in front of others.
That made him realise that it feels better when you let your emotions out sometimes.

--

"H-Himiko... I have to go.." Tenko gently let go of the sobbing Magician, still crying herself. "But... please listen to me." She quickly returned her hands to the Magician. She cupped them around Yumeno's face and told her something she'd never forget.

"Never bottle up your emotions. If you feel like crying, cry your eyes out! Laughing makes you feel a lot better, too. And venting your anger onto something can really cheer you up! Express your feelings by crying, laughing, and venting your anger, Himiko. Never forget that. I'm always here for you, so call me anytime!" Tenko's tears had dried up as she gave her emotions to her words. She wanted to make sure Yumeno knew how to treat herself mentally.

"I... I'll try... I d-don't know if I'll be able to hold it in, nyeh..." She rubbed her tears away.

"Well, goodbye, Himiko. Have your cellphone handy at all times! I wanna talk to you as much as possible!!"

"Th-this isn't goodbye." Himiko rather seriously stared at Tenko.
"Ah, of course, my bad!" Tenko smiled. "This is a "See you later". "

And like that, she left. As the moving truck drove away, Himiko fell to her knees. Not out of sadness, out of emptiness.

Kokichi decided to try to fill that emptiness, if only subtly.

He sat down beside her. "Tokyo, huh? I wonder if we can catch her doing big things on TV!"
"Nyeh..?"
"Y'know, television, you dummy."
"I know what a television is!!"
"Neeheehee ~"

The grass crinkled as Kokichi gently placed his hand on top of the smaller mage's. Her head perked up to the feeling. "Kokichi..?"

"What, am I not allowed to help a friend out?? ...wWAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHH!! YOU'RE SO MEAN!!" He only clutched Himiko's hand tighter.

Himiko made some dull remark about cursing him with her magic, and they talked under the setting sun for a while.

-

"Welp, I'm going to sleep." Ouma stood up, leaving the Mage on her own. "It's getting pretty late, and all of that talking tired me out -"
"Can you take me to my room..?"
"Huh?"
"...please..?"

Kokichi sighed as he reluctantly complied. He reached a hand out to Himiko. She took it non-chalantly and they both walked to the dorms, hand in hand.

"Night, Himi." Kokichi, about to slink into his room, was stopped by a rather bold request.

"Can I have a hug..? M-Maybe even... a..." Yumeno's face flushed brilliantly at her own words. Kokichi just raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"Because you're... really warm..."

In less than a few seconds, Kokichi's arms were wrapped tightly around the small Magician. She hugged back with a small nuzzle. And, suddenly...

A warm sensation flourised on Himiko's forehead. Soft, welcoming. A kiss.
"N-N-Nyeh!!" In no time, Kokichi was already at his door. "Goodnight, Himiko."

"Himiko embarrassedly fumbled with the brim of her witch hat. "G-Goodnight, you stupid boy..."

And just like that, the door closed.
