chapter: 11 Who is harry?

I laid there in my despair. I was stuck here for good. A life of imprisonment and lies. What was I going to do? Nothing even the spunky Marie Lopez lost in this game of abduction. I heard the door click open and saw Calum come in.

“What do you want?” I said trying to act tough when that was really the opposite of what I was feeling.

“I have to watch you now shut up.”

I shut up and sulked. I was in no room to talk him into anger because well I was tied up. I thought about what that boy said. He’s kidnapped before? Where were his other victims? I thought about all the kidnapping going around in this small town of Cambridge. There was definitely a spike and most people being kidnapped were pretty girls or nerds. Ha. Harry kidnapped nerds. But where were they. If Harry really did kidnap all those people then there should be about 75 people in this house.

Wouldn’t they be screaming? Wouldn’t they at least be crying loudly? This house should be chaos! Where were his father and his little sister? Were they in on it also? Okay maybe not his sister but his father was a violent man.

Also that man that sold me out. Harry had people working for him! Maybe that was a guy that was kidnapped. He was pretty nerdy but wouldn’t he at least try to run to help others. No a kidnapped would help a fellow kidnapped not sell them out. Unless he was paid wicked money. Harry wasn’t all that rich was he? Maybe I underestimated his wealth. For a guy that got all his clothes from Walmart. Ugh what was happening!?

Calum! Maybe I could talk something out of him.

“Calum.”

“What do you want?”

“I have a question.”

“Hurry up and ask it.”

“Harry’s kidnapped before?”

He scoffed.

“Not only kidnap. He’s murdered, raped…” His facial expression changed to sadness.

“Tortured some people until they broke.”

Harry? He had the guts to torture. Maybe that’s why the guy stayed and sold me out. He was tortured. These poor people. Every little thing was messed up. Who was Harry? He wasn’t the happy go lucky Harry I knew.

“How long has he been doing this?”

“Years Lopez. When I came in he was at his high. Had control over this town. Over the Sheriff and even the mayor of the district. He has power here Marie so whatever plan is in that head of yours I’d remove it because Harry will kill you if he has to.”

“Oh. Calum?”

“Yes.”

“Were you kidnapped?”
