A day at the park was paradise for your energized five-year-old. As soon as you arrived and said hi to Dianna and Eddie, she was pulling on your hand and looking up at you with her big eyes. "Can I go play now?" She asked, excited yet impatient.
"Yeah. Go have fun." She squealed before running to the playground, kicking up woodchips as she ran to the slides first. You sat down with Demi across from her parents. "I wish I had half the energy she does." You murmured making them all laugh.
"Thanks for coming, mom." Dianna nodded. "Well, we decided it'd been too long since we've seen our favorite girl." She smiled as she looked back at Sophia playing happily, making Demi roll her eyes at her parents with a laugh. "You do know you guys saw her like four days ago, right?"
"That's too long when she keeps growing every single day!" Eddie squeezed her hand making Dianna gasp excitedly. "Oh! We were actually wondering if we could have her over this weekend? We figured you two could use a nice weekend to go on a fancy date or something."
"Yeah, sure. You just wanna hog my baby." You joked but agreed. After all, it has been a while since you and Demi had some alone time. "But it sounds good. What time-"
You were cut off by Sophia running over and yelling excitedly. "Mom! Mom!" Dianna and Eddie quietly sat there and smiled, thinking she'd be running to you. But she was running to Demi instead, causing them to look at each other with a gasp.
"Yes, Soph?" Demi asked sweetly, smiling when Sophia's tiny fingers wrapped around her hand. "Come push me!" She pointed to the swings and didn't even hesitate to get up and walk over there with Sophia.
Dianna and Eddie had gone unusually quiet making you worry a little. "Is everything okay?"
"S-She called Demi 'mom'?" Dianna was wide-eyed but there was no mistaking the happiness that was evident in her voice. "Yeah. She does that a lot," you said happily, looking over at the two girls that took up all the space and love in your heart.
"You have no idea how much Demi loves the two of you," Eddie said. "Every time we talk to her, she talks about you two more than anything else. I've never seen her so happy. Not to mention, we always knew she'd be great with a family. But witnessing it, watching how she is with Sophia, brings me so much joy."
"She's really amazing." You smiled.
"That she is. But so is Sophia, and so are you, y/n. When I look at that little girl I see you. She is your little twin."
Those words always warmed your heart. There was nothing more important to you than being a good mother and a good girlfriend to the two most important people in your life.
You heard Sophia and Demi both yelling out to you from across the park. They both waved you over and with a laugh, you excused yourself from the picnic table and ran over to the both of them, laughing when you were greeted with smiles and kisses.
Dianna and Eddie just watched with huge grins on their faces. They could tell this was it for Demi; the little family she'd always dreamt of having.
They sure were finding it hard keeping Demi's plans of marrying you soon a secret. But it sure made them happy to know that they'll have the three of you around for years to come.
