Hello my lovely readers. I would like to start off by expressing my gratitude first and foremost that you have been so engaged with my work! I've posted this on my wall, but I have decided to post this here as well.

I rarely make announcements and posts, I am just completely horrible at keeping up with social media, that's my bad. I read your comments guys, they make me laugh, smile, and overall happy that so many people are still engaged with my books! I rarely get any comments I feel strongly surprised by. I get offended very rarely. You'd be surprised. However I have a few things to say as an author. I am not blind to what fanfictions are. People would rather read the book rather then my commentary, or announcements about the book. I know that people like to imagine themselves as the main characters or whatever books they are reading, I have done it a number of times myself! I wondered what it would be like to be Elizabeth Bennett! I totally get it. But I never imagined myself instead of Elizabeth Bennett, because just getting rid of a character Jane Austen worked on like that is not how I vibe (I am not judging if you do though). And of course I am not comparing myself with Jane Austen at all, my book is not nearly as great as hers!

My book is not an Y/N and for good reason. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of Y/N. They're messy and it's tricky to put the plot together without fluff or smut in Y/Ns (I also know that's probably why people like reading them so much). The second I started writing this book I have wondered whether I want to change the character and make her a Y/N. What changed my mind is the fact that Y/N is impersonal, and I am not writing about someone like that. I am writing about a character that I made up (of course with a slight inspiration from many other female characters I have read about) I tried to create a character who is relatable and unique. I've given her a backstory, a personality. I put a lot of effort into her. However, I have also left her ambiguous, so that readers can imagine themselves as her, so that they can put themselves in her situations. Note that I say imagine themselves as her, not replacing themselves with her. On that note, reading comments such as "y/n is much better" or "I'd rather much read a y/n fanfic" offend me as an author. I would kindly urge you to go read a y/n fanfiction then, if that is what you're looking for. With that said, I absolutely have no problem with people imagining themselves as my character or pretending that they are her, that's the whole fun of reading a fanfiction isn't it? Sometimes you can't even help but imagine yourselves as someone! What I have a problem with is such blatant disregard for the original character and for me as an author, someone who put time and effort into this character. Again, I know that this isn't a published book and is just some fanfiction on wattpad, but that doesn't meant that the author's of these fanfictions don't put effort and don't care/defend their characters/stories. I am sure most of you picture yourselves as Angelina, and I love that, that's totally fine, but "y/n is better?" Sis. Let's not do that here. I have received a number of rude messages or requests to make a y/n, I am sorry, I am just not that kind of author. Actually, what I would also encourage you to do is, if you want a y/n fanfiction, try writing one! I promise it's fun! (to the people who may feel attacked by this, I am not attacking you, although I did feel offended. The reason I am bringing this up is to give light to this situation because it bothers me as an author of this series.) At the end of the day, I am extremely grateful that you decided to give my series a read :)

You may ask me, "but Amelia, don't you also see yourself as Angelina since you are the author and you wrote this?" Sure, but what I do a lot of times is I take situations, analyze how I would react to them and then write down the opposite of my reaction for Angelina, on purpose. You'd be surprised how much you separate yourself from the main character once you write one into existence. This series is like my baby, I write this out of love and the passion to write.

I am EXTREMELY grateful to everyone and anyone who has read my book and wrote such wonderful messages to me. I sometimes go through a whole routine of reading comments and replying to them. Anyway, if you're offended by what I said, Im just expressing my opinion on MY fanfiction. It's just something that struck a cord with me and my social media dislike in general. We hide behind screens and don't really bother to make sure our words aren't harmful. Some of you guys even expressed how wrong you think Angelina was in some cases (I totally agree, she's a flawed character on purpose and I love that you noticed that!). I love criticism, in fact if you do wanna add some criticism or advice, feel free to DM me, I welcome that! But frankly what I talked about wasn't criticism, it just came off as rude. (Maybe I am reading into it because sarcasm can't be passed through text ). Blessings to all, and I am still working on getting the second book back up, thank you all for being so patient!

I may even release the edited 1st chapter today <3!
