There was one minutes until curtain and the audience was incredibly boisterous. The lights had just flickered and the violin began to hum, signaling the curtain to open.

Dawn was standing on top of a simple wooden chair, in a white, ghostly night gown and her blue hair was natural, flowing down but purposefully pulled out of her face.

Soon she began to sing, with no sign of nerves. In fact, the audience began to take note that she sounded like an angel. But the song was short and soon the rest of the girls joined her to sing a pop rock reprise with microphones despite their attire. And soon the lights were faded, cuing the audience's thunderous applause.

May hugged Dawn so tight, "That was amazing. You killed it!"

Dawn sighed heavily, clearly the weight of opening the show had lifted off of her shoulders. "Thanks May." She was bubbly, so incredibly happy, but in a focused demeanor. "I need to go find Barry and wish him luck. Is Paul already on?"

"Yes and yes girl, go get your mans." The pair hugged one last time and left the stairwell wing in a giddy manner, exiting on the wing above to touch up their stage makeup.

When the curtain closed for Act One, it was hard for Barry to not be jealous. Not with his girlfriend's entire breast exposed to an audience as well as to all the people in the cast, and especially Paul. It was especially weird for him because even though he was older than Dawn, he wasn't as old as Paul, who was five years older than her, and Dawn just happened to be the youngest person in the cast.

He was overcome by a weird jealousy he had never really felt before. But it all seemed to subside as soon as Dawn ran up to hug him. She nuzzled her head in his chest as he held the back of her head. A calm washed over him as she whispered, "I can't believe we did that."

He smiled, "Yeah, we did and the audience really seems to love it. We're doing something right."

Her head bounced up, "Yup! I need to check in with my dresser and find Paul, but I will see you out there!"

Paul? Why did she need to go see Paul?

Paul was simply cooling down after his work up in Act One. He was certainly a method actor, and all the pain that Melchior Gabor felt also lied in his heart. He was drinking more water and chewing on a piece of celery while scrolling through Instagram on his phone in attempt to forget everything.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "Come in," he practically shouted. He loved having his own dressing room, there were simply no interruptions. Until now.

The interruption was Dawn and he immediately understood why from her previous texts. She was still nervous, he could see it in her performance, but only because Paul is so observant. "Yes?"

Her answer honestly shocked him. "You're doing so well tonight. I'm so nervous but I feel like our characters had so much more chemistry than usual. I actually had a lot of fun out there. So thanks. And break a leg for Act Two!"

She was gone in a flash, hardly giving me any time to recuperate. "Thank you?" He said to the thin air now before him.
