Sami's POV

Apparently, Mabel and Josh both didn't come to school yesterday. Coincidence? I think not. I was furious, because why was Mabel still finding a way to get with Josh, even after I ruined any possible chance for her.

I had my sister pick up Bubba this morning. Truth is, I don't care all that much for Bubba, I'm just trying to hurt Mabel. However, I have to make it look as real as possible, so I'm pretending to be the sweet caring friend.

"Hey" Bubba said as she hoped in the back, I gave her a disgusted look. I told the girls we were going "slutty plaid" today, which meant we wear plaid mini skirts, plaid crop tops, and plaid low cuts. What Bubba had on, was a plaid maids uniform. Seriously, how poor was this girl?

"What?" Bubba asked, "is there something wrong?" I didn't say anything. I just shook my head and handed her a bag. "I figured you wouldn't come through on the whole outfit thing, so I bought you some clothes. Change in the car, because I'm not letting you walk in with me looking like that."

The girls and I walked up to my locker before classes started. Typically Josh would meet me at the locker, we'd share a kiss, and then go our separate ways. But today, he didn't seem to interested in kissing me.

"Hey can I talk to you?" Josh said to Bubba as he walked up to us. I gave Bubba a mean look, she better not say yes. "Sure" she said as her and Josh walked over to the side. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm trying to keep her from being friends with Mabel, I would've ruined her for this.

Bubba's POV

"You didn't tell anybody about Mabel and I right?" Joshua asked calmly. He clearly wasn't mad at the moment. I shook my head, "no I didn't tell anybody" I said, "and quite frankly, I don't think Mabel did either." Joshua nodded in agreement.

"Look" he began, "my friends kind of opened my eyes to this situation yesterday. They strongly believe Sami started it, because Sami knew about me hanging out with Mabel before Mabel herself even knew about me hanging out with her."

I raised an eyebrow, "that really makes no sense, but I'm assuming you're going to explain more in depth" I said. Joshua cracked a smile, "well as messed up as it sounds, Sami and a few of my friends wanted me to hang around Mabel so that I could play her and get nudes out of her" he said, my eyes went wide.

"That was the day before I hung out with Mabel" he went on. "I told them that if I did hang out with her, it would be genuine, and I wasn't going to put her through any more hell than she's already experiencing. I went home, slept on it, and realized that Mabel seems pretty cool. Do you get it now?"

I nodded my head, "I understand, but that doesn't explain the pictures or how she knew that you were hanging out with Mabel on that exact day" I said. Joshua licked his lips and cleared his throat before speaking. "That's why I need your help" he said, "now that you're like friends with Sami, I need you to get it out of her. Subtly, of course."

"How am I supposed to do that?" I asked, "don't you think she'll assume I'm on to something?" Joshua looked at me for a moment, as if he was thinking of what to say. "Yeah she might, which is why I'm also gonna ask that Indian girl that Mabel and I helped the other day" he said as pointed at Miranda.

"You helped her the other day?" I asked, "with what?" Joshua laughed as he recalled the moment, "she had a cramp apparently. Never seen her a day in my life, but now after helping her, she's suddenly here. So I'm gonna ask her what her deal is, and if the plan with you backfires, the plan with her surely won't."

"I think you two are done now" Sami began as she walked over to us. "You can stop obsessing over my friend, thanks" she continued, as she pulled me away from Joshua. At the same time, the bell rang, which was good because that meant that I wouldn't really see Sami until math.

"What did he say?" Sami asked, once we were down the hall. I shrugged, "he was telling me about how weird Mabel is, and how he's glad that I ditched her" I said, lying. A smile formed on Sami's face, "good" she said as she turned left and began walking towards her class.

Joshua's POV

Sami and I never have lunch together, because she sits with her friends in the cafeteria, and my friends and I usually walk to some walk to some fast food restaurant. Today however, I was on a mission, and it included Sami's new Indian friend.

I couldn't just go up to her because it would be obvious. So I texted the group chat a good twenty or so minutes before lunch, asking if anybody had class with this mystery girl. Turns out, Bryce was in Chem class with 'an Indian girl that looked like she went through a plaid fabric shortage' (his words not mine).

That was definitely her, because what are the chances that there's another Indian girl here that just happens to be wearing plaid? Turns out, her name is Miranda and she's really smart. I asked Bryce to stall her after the bell rang, and if get there as soon as I could.

When the bell rang, I dashed through the hallways. I ran up the stairs and then took a right turn at the water fountain. It took me about two or three minutes to get there. When I got there, the rest of the boys were already there, and they were trying to create small talk with Miranda. They were failing miserably, and I realized that this is why they're all single.
