Sami's POV
We were all sitting in my room, and we had just finished listening to Bethany explain that a cute guy approached her asking for Mabel.
"So you're telling me" I began, as the girls and I sat, all in various areas of my room "that Mabel has a new man?"
"What a slut" Bella said, as we all laughed. Well, all of us except for Bubba, who seemed to still be a tad bit bitter about Mabel breaking her arm.
"Bubba girl" I said, "cheer up!"
Bubba sighed, and readjusted herself so that her arm wasn't in the same stiff position. "I'm just tired of this Mabel stuff" she said, "I think we've gotten our point across with her."
I gave Bubba a blank glare for a while, before speaking. "Bubba, if we had gotten our point across, your arm wouldn't be broken." Bubba rolled her eyes at my words, but I let it go because she's hurt.
"Have you talked to Josh?" Maranda asked, breaking the silence. "No" I said as I thought, "I actually haven't." "Well, why don't you text him?" Maranda asked, as I raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Saying what, and why?" I replied, and Bella's face lit up like a lightbulb. "Tell him that you always win" she said, "since he thought he did something when he sent you that video of him and Mabel."
"Okay" I said, still a little confused. "But why?"
"Well you haven't talked to Josh in awhile, aren't you even a tad bit worried that Mabel could have your man wrapped around her little gordita finger?" Bethany said, as she Bella and I laughed. I looked over at Bubba and Maranda who didn't seem to find it as funny. "Come on guys" I said, "it was funny."
"Well aside from the fact that Mabel is not Mexican" Bubba began, "it's not funny for people who are of Hispanic heritage." I looked over at Maranda, because she wasn't Hispanic, so why didn't see laugh. "I felt it was a little too racist for me" she said, "but hey if it makes you laugh then great."
I rolled my eyes "whatever" I said, as I grabbed my phone to text Josh. "There, I did it."
Almost instantly, my phone pinged. I decided to read the text out loud since the girls seemed antsy to see what it said.
"Jokes on you" I began reading, "Mabel's parents are pressing charges against you and your friends, except that Maranda chic." My eyes went wide and I heard a gasp amongst the girls. "She can't do that" I said defensively, "I'm trying to get into Harvard. She can't do that!"
I tried not to panic, because I always played it off like I was calm, cool and collected. If I panicked, then the rest of the girls would. Everybody seemed to already be in some sort of frenzy though, expect for Maranda, who I was so jealous of at the moment.
"I'm sorry" Bubba said getting up, "but I've gotta go." Without another word she grabbed her purse and swung it on her good arm, then walked out of my room. "Wow" I said, "so that's what you guys do when we get in a tough situation? Leave?"
Maranda looked like she wanted to speak, then stopped. "Is there something you'd like to say?" I asked her rather coldly. "Well, I don't blame Bubba for leaving" she said, "you only treat Bethany and Bella good, Bubba and I are only here for your advantage."
