I hit the gas pedal harder since I was running late on the precious time due to waking up late. I wasn't able to fall asleep due to nightmares. I let out an exhausting sigh and reach the company. I park my car in the underground parking lot and make my way up with the lift.
I was just in time since I had 10 minutes left before reporting time. The lift opens in the lobby and I take another lift to reach the 21st floor.
Balancing some files in one of my hand's hand while the other hand was holding the purse.
Is it bad that I can't wait to work for Mr.Aziz? I just can stop but feel very jittery when thinking about him. This sucks big time if I can't handle my emotions then I will be kicked out in no time. And that verily would go down in my report and resume.
The ting of the elevator snaps me out of the thoughts. I excuse my way out of the elevator and go straight away to Dan's room with a nod at some girl sitting on the reception. There was a young boy yesterday. Wonder what happened.
I knocked on Dan's room and entered to find her busy on a call. She looked up and smiled at me while showing me an index finger indicating to give her some time. I smiled and waved my hand for her to continue.
I put down my files and purse and settle on the couch.
I really liked my outfit today. I wore a white shirt with ribbon as the necktie tucked in black and white checkered pants. I finished the look with a long black blazer that reached my mid-thigh and black chiffon hijab. I paired it with black pointed toe buckle straps with a low heel and a black Michael Kors black purse.
(the coat is a bit long)
Dan finishes her call and comes around with a file in her hand. We share a brief hug as she greets me, "Assalamualikum girl!". I look a little confused at her greeting but didn't want to ask since it would look bad.
"Walaikumassalam."I smiled at her but she just laughed at my reaction.
"Don't worry I get that a lot. I'm a Muslim as well as trying to wear hijab one day." She gave me a sad smile which I could only comfort with a squeeze on her shoulder. I was wonderstruck by that revelation but maintained my expression and smiled at her.
"Nevermind, let's get back to work. Take these files and go up to Arsalan's cabin and he will give you further instructions. You just had to collect finance details from me." She jerks towards the files in her hand while I grab it along with the rest of my stuff.
