Life is so ironic. It takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence, and absence to value presence.
~~~The weekend was already over and I was dressing up to go back to the office.
It was a rather uneventful weekend apart from that one incident. Both Owais and Osman are avoiding me. I tried talking to Osman many times but whenever I bring that topic he changes the topic of just gets up and leaves or doesn't reply. I even went as far as dragging him to my room and shutting the door so he couldn't leave but he still refused to talk and after an hour I had to let him go. I don't know what they talked about but it sure is scary and frustrating to not know the entirety of the problem.
I wore long black palazzo trousers with and grey turtle neck shirt that went under a geometrical designed shrug. I wrapped a chiffon ligh brown scarf and slipped on black and brown coloured heels.
I was rather tired with no sleep getting to me because of my thoughts but I have no choice but to go. I could call in sick but I really wanted to get out of this house. It was suffocating me.
I grabbed my black purse and the files that I had to complete and go downstairs. Bhai and bhabi weren't home cause they had to go for an appointment. I saw abbu, Osman, Owais, and ammi at the table. I guess she got up early today.
"Salaam beta." She gave me a soft smile while I returned her one of mine. "Salaam ammi, abbu."
I sat beside ammi and started eating. The others were engaged in a conversation but I didn't want to get involved. It was peaceful enough to just eat.
Osman and Owais were doing a really good job of avoiding me. No one would mind if Owais did cause it was common and Osman still talked to me but just avoided that subject.
After some time I finished eating. I still had half an hour before I had to sign in the office, I could go to a cafe or some park and find some peace of mind.
I politely excused myself and gave my mom a hug and waved at the others.
I got in my car and started it up and rode off towards the office. I will find somewhere to stop, somewhere closer to the office.
