Mabel sat there shocked. What was she thinking? It wasn't gonna be this easy befriending Robbie. She wanted to help the teen even after he was a bit of a jerk to her. Why? She didn't even know. Maybe deep down she wanted someone to help her too, but she'd never admit that to anyone.
She quickly stood up and ran towards the door, trying to catch up with Robbie. She opened it and scanned the area, spotting him entering the forest. She sprinted towards him. When she finally reached him, Robbie realized she followed him out the door. He groaned and walked even faster. Mabel scoffed and also sped up her pace, matching his.
"Robbie please, can we talk?" she asked him, trying to avoid a bunch of tree roots in the process.
"Go away" he scoffed at her and made a sharp turn towards a small lake. He looked back, expecting her to have given up because of his mean attitude but she wasn't far behind. Truth be told, Robbie liked talking to Mabel that night, not to mention the hug... He didn't know what to feel about that. But at the same time, he didn't want to let his guard down completely. So the best thing to do was to push the one person who wanted to help him away. He wasn't weak.
"Robbie!" Mabel called out. She was jogging trying to reach him once again before she suddenly fell and landed on her face. Robbie heard the thud and quickly turned around, stopping in his tracks. He stood there for a few seconds, waiting to see if she was ok. When she shakily stood up he flinched when he saw that she had a cut on her cheek. She turned her back to him and looked down at the cause of her fall.
"Stupid tree root...," she mumbled and lightly kicked it.
Robbie walked towards her and turned her around, examining her cheek. He noticed she was starting to tear up. She was such a crybaby, he thought and smiled. He wiped the tear before it could go over her cut and took her hand. They slowly started walking back to the shack.
----------------------------------------------------
Mabel was confused, to say the least. One minute he was running away from her and the next he was a sweetheart and was helping her. Does that mean he changed his mind?
They sat in the kitchen as Robbie finished up cleaning the cut and adding a band-aid. He stood up and put the first aid kit back where he found it. Dipper was nowhere to be seen, he must've gone back upstairs when he saw that both of them had left. Mabel looked up at Robbie and opened her mouth to speak, "S-so does that mean we're good?"
Robbie froze, damn he made things more complicated. He really didn't mean to, he just had to help her, she looked like a lost puppy. She was just so cute-
'Robbie... snap out of it...'
"We're not friends," he clarified turning around so he didn' t look at her.
"Seriously?" Mabel started, "Robbie I just want to help you! Don't be so difficult, please!"
"Yeah? Well, I don't want your help! Has that ever crossed your mind? You're being a nuisance!" He snapped and looked at her. He regretted that decision instantly when he saw that the tears in her eyes had returned. She stood up and ran out of the kitchen. As she neared the front door, she spotted Dipper at the bottom of the stairs staring at her with anger in his eyes. Before he could speak she opened the door and once again ran into the forest.
