MIRU

Day two of the trip.

"You're taking a long time!" I heard Ari shout from outside the bathroom.

I rolled my eyes and almost threw my soap to the door. "Can't you wait a flippin' minute?" I muttered.

Being roommates with Ari back at the dorm was enough of a hell for me, but they just had to put me in the same room with her again in this school trip. I was trying my best to ignore her but she kept on sending me looks and tried to pick a fight with me. I was slowly losing my patience, not gonna lie, but I tried to keep my cool.

"The bus is leaving soon and I'm not even ready here." She whined. Being in the most toxic group of friends could really change someone's personality, huh?

The bus ain't gonna leave within the next hour and she keeps on being a brat.

I ended up washing my body quickly and brushed my teeth, not wanting to hear anymore of her complaints. I changed in the bathroom and unlocked the bathroom door, pulling it open. I walked right pass her without giving her a single glance. She scowled at me but didn't say anything.

Be grateful, Miru. At least you don't have to deal with her 'friends' who are much more worse.

I wore a thin oversized white shirt with shorts and a two piece bathing suit underneath, I chose simple clothes for today as we were going to a beach. I grabbed my phone, charger just in case my phone died, chapstick, wallet, and for some reason the cute little figurines were also put in my bag. I also brought my lotion and sunscreen as getting sunburnt was the last thing I wanted.

I walked downstairs and helped the teachers pack different types of food for our picnic at the beach. We got loads of sandwiches, ordered a lot of fried chicken and burgers, skewers, kimbap, and kimchi. They said that people sold refreshing fruits near the beach so we planned on buying those as well. I sat on the floor with the teachers and packed the sandwiches.

"Teacher, the bus drivers are ready."

My heart fluttered at the familiar deep, rich voice that I haven't heard for a while.

"Oh, okay. Please tell them to wait for a bit. We'll be done in a little while. Thank you, Taehyung."

"Okay."

I wanted to turn my body and greet him like I usually do, but something was holding me back. Instead, I glanced at the metal dishwasher which reflected his figure standing behind me. He was wearing a straight face, and I swore I felt my heart stop when my eyes met his through the reflection. I immediately looked down and continued packing sandwiches.

I thought he would say hello to me or whatever, but he didn't. I would be lying if I said that it didn't hurt. It did, a little. But I almost yelped when I felt him poke my side with his toe, and he left just like that.

What a twit.

Without myself even knowing it, a big smile appeared on my face.

The ride to the beach was pretty much boring like yesterday. At this point I've grown to learn that the teachers never bothered to assign buses so we had the freedom to choose which bus we wanted to ride and with whom. I ended up sitting in the bus that has the majority of science track students. Taehyung, Sian, and Hoseok were in the other bus. Jimin chose to sit beside me to keep me company, although I never asked for it. I was grateful, nonetheless.

The science kids were no better than the humanity kids. They were as loud. They kept on singing throughout the ride and I wanted to question them if their throats hurt. Jimin was also singing but I liked his voice. And for goodness' sake, it's Jimin. I have a soft spot for him so I didn't care.
