COIN-H Mission - Phase 1

Steve POV (Day Of The Battle)

This was the day that the we have all been organising since that fortunate day that Dr Strange had arrived to reveal where Arielle is being held hostage.

I round up the mixed team of heroes, making sure everyone is listening before I relay the strategy for the fight.

"Avengers! Today is our one chance at overthrowing Hydra once and for all. We need everyone's concentration..." I send a pointed look in Loki's direction and he smirks back at me.

"... if we are going to get Arielle back."

I walk through the cluster of Avengers until I am standing in between Tony and Stephen, in front of the rest of the team.

"Strange and Wong will open two portals. Through one portal, will be Natasha, Clint, Pietro, Thor, Scott, Loki and Strange. Through the other portal, I need Hulk, Wanda, Vision, Sam, Bucky, Peter and Wong."

I pause to check that everyone is following my briefing, satisfied when I am met with fifteen pairs of eyes, all with a determined glint in them.

"Tony, Pepper and Rhodes, I need you three to go ahead of us and attack the outside of the building. Once their defence is down, they'll immediately be in lockdown and will be focusing on protecting the outside of the building so we can then infiltrate the building from the inside."

"On it Capsicle." Tony says as his Iron Man visor automatically shuts.

Him and Pepper grab each other's hands through their armour. They both fire up and start zooming over to the laboratory, with Rhodes following suite.

Tony POV

"Honey, I need you to be on the left side, Rhodey, you're on the right side!" I shout to them both through our in-suit communications devices.

I fly directly above the centre of the building, where I spot a conveniently flat landing site. "On my count, attack." I say as I land onto the roof, behind some unsuspecting guards.

As soon as they hear the metal clunk of my armour, they spin round, aiming their guns at me.

I smirk beneath my mask.

"Oh? Sorry, I didn't realise this roof was already taken?" I say, sarcastically.

I lift up my arms and send a spray of bullets at them.
They all drop dead to the ground but I hear fast stomping coming up from inside the building.

I jokingly sigh, "What a waste of men." Just as I'm about to count Pepper and Rhodey in, I hear a blast off the right side of the building, oh shit.

"Attack now!" I yell.

"Yeah, I think that may be a little too late, Tony!" Rhodes shouts into my earpiece as I hear multiple shots being fired in the distance.

I continue fighting off the new onslaught of guards, serving them the occasional blast in between kicks and punches.

I'm down to the last guard in my line of attack when I suddenly hear a massive blast from the left wing.
I look over the side of the roof to see my badass wife absolutely smashing the guards to pieces.

I call over to her, "THAT'S MY GIRL!"

"Tony, just shut up and kill your guy!" Pepper laughs over the comms.

I swear, if I could see Pep's face right now, she'd most likely be rolling her eyes.

The last remaining guy tries shooting me and is set to run back inside but his movements are too slow .
I manage to turn around, just in time to shoot him directly in the head.

"Mine are all down." I tell Rhodes and I get into position, ready for the next phase of the mission.
