Hermitcraft Season 6 Demise Story

The first Demise death.

Third Person POV

Grian has created this game. Demise. But the game can't fully start until someone dies! So he needs a way of killing someone fast. Without it being his fault.

Demise Dares. A new game created by Grian. You do the dare, try not to die and if you don't then you will get diamonds. The 4 dares were: Fly through the lava tube (self explanatory), Escape the aquarium (by breaking the ice above), Fall to -65 in the void (in the end of course) and catch the totem from falling from the scaffolding. Possible but extremely hard.

After waiting for an eternity a curious RenDog showed up and asked grian what he had set up. "Demise Dares." Grian explained the rules, rewards and risks. "So there can be death involved??" Ren looked at Grian waiting for a answer

"Not necessarily"

Ren paused for a minute to reconsider what he was about to agree with. 

"What dare do I need to do, I need diamonds" 

Grian smirked and pressed the buttons to dispense the paper dare out of the pot. "Catch the totem" was scribbled in messy handwriting on the paper. "Okay. So place all your stuff in that chest and make your way to the top of the scaffolding, with a totem in your hotbar" RenDog complied and started climbing the tall height, a sweat bead dripping from his forehead as he started to think if this was a good idea or not. 

"So I am going to tell you to throw. Then one, two, three. Jump. Then you jump. You got it?" Grian looked up to see if he understood, even though there's a chance he didn't even hear him. 

"Yep start the countdown"

Grian started counting. 

"Throw"

He threw the totem watching it fall steadily to the floor. 

"1"

Grian watched the totem fall as Ren looked down tracking it. 

"2"

Ren got ready to jump towards the totem, still tracking its fast movements. 

"3"

Ren closed his eyes and got ready to jump. 

"JUMP!!"

Ren jumped and flew down at an alarming speed towards the totem through midair, he was gaining speed fast and a water trail falling behind him as he caught the totem. He caught the totem and quickly placed it in his off hand in hopes he did it in time. He closed his eyes and..

"You did it! Congratulations!"

"Omg I survived!!!"

He survived with a split second until he hit the floor. 

"I am shaking right now that was scary" Ren looked at Grian who was having a laughing fit and looked over signalling to know what was so funny.

"You were supposed to use elytra!" Grian managed to exclaim through his laughs. " If you can survive that then you must be able to survive another" Grian asked, seeing if he could encourage Ren to go through all the same thing again, just with more pressure as he knew if he failed, he could have got out of this. 

"Bring it on"

Grian pressed the button again and it was "Escape the aquarium" written down. Causing Grian to look up to see what Rens reaction was to the dare he had just been given. 

Ren's POV

I looked over the area to see a huge water filled glass case with hardened ice above to make it more difficult to break and I saw Grian walking towards it. And signalling to me to enter on his count, causing a slight cold sweat to come over me, double taking again. 

"RenDog. I. Dare. You. To escape the aquarium."

"I take the dare, let's go baby!" 

I jump inside and I start to get pulled down by the bubbles *nononono* I manage to carefully swim to the top trying to not get pulled back down the fast acting bubbles. I started punching the ice as hard as I can, slowly starting to struggle as he sees almost no more than a small crack in the ice. "Punch your hand faster you stupid little Minecraft idiot! No dude I'm running out of bubbles!!" 

"Are you going to make it??" I faintly heard Grian say from the outside of the aquarium. I could tell he was snickering and he had no faith in me and having any success. 

Shoot. I start taking damage. I'm not even halfway through breaking the ice! I started to punch even harder hoping it would make a difference. I looked up to see I had almost broken it but I realised as I broke the Last layer of Ice that I had half a heart. I grabbed the glass surrounding the top of the hole I had created. I started to try to pull my heaving body up as the water was dragging me down a bit. I managed to drag myself out of the tall glass tank "Yes I made it!!" I exclaimed so loud others could probably hear me from the opposite side of the shopping district. But then I hear laughter as I look down and see I fell off the top was on the edge of the tank, about to fall off! I looked around hoping for something to break my fall and as I was slipping off the edge trying to drag myself away from the demise. I lost my grip and in a split second I heard the damage as I shut my eyes to calm myself down before opening them again to see the death screen. 

Third Person POV

Grian started bursting out into a laughing fit on the floor as Ren started crying through his continuous laughter. He had just died by his own stupidity and clumsiness. He respawned nearby, grabbed his diamonds and left. He huffed and started thinking of traps for Grian to get him back, even though it was technically his own fault. What a tragic turn of events. He flew off and left Grian laughing his head off alone on the cold floor.

A message comes through the system that Stressmonster wants to have a go at attempting some dares. Grian smirks thinking of the previous attempt and knowing Stress' panic tolerance. This will be fun.
