When I woke Gustave still slept. In the middle of the night I ha had a nightmare an Gustave had brought me back to his room. His thick dark lashes cast dark shadows under his eyes. His olive skin was unlined and beautiful.
He blinked and peaked at me with green orbs through slitted eyelids. "Good Morning," he smiled stretching.
I kissed his cheek. "Good Morning."
He rolled over to where he was perched on his elbow looming over me.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Nothing I just wanted to look at you," he whispered moving my raven hair out of my eyes.
He trace the back of his hand down my face. I grabbed his hand and held it in both of mine.
"I love you," I smiled bashfully.
He chuckled and knelt down to kiss me.
He broke away long before either of us could make any bad decisions. "You're beautiful and I love you too." He whispered against my lips.
Something clanged in the kitchen. We both jumped.
"It's probably Selene." I spoke after Gustave jumped out of bed.
He relaxed and nodded.
"I'll go help her you get ready for work." He nodded and went into the bathroom while I went outside to help Selene in the kitchen.
When I left the room I found her looking back at me with a broken plate shattered on the floor.
"I'm sorry I got thirsty and was looking for a glass." She shook her head and moved to clean up the glass.
"Let me help you," I shifted to my knees to help her pick up the glass shards.
"I think you've helped me enough." She scoffed.
"Hey remember what I said last night. I want to help you," she looked up and met my eyes. I smiled and returned it.
"Why are you being so nice. You hardly know me," she shifted uneasily.
"Hey you didn't know me but you stuck up for me." I reminded her.
"You're alright kid. Most people see me and think I'm not worth saving." She sighed.
I looked at the girl with pity. How could anyone do that. She was certainly beautiful. From her jewel green eyes lined by thick lashes to her pale skin and full red lips she was effortlessly gorgeous.
"Don't let anyone tell you what you're worth," I snarled getting angry at the thought.
"I would kill to know half the innocence you possess." She chuckled. "I'm going to get dressed." Selene went into my old room just as Gustave emerged from my new room.
"I'm off to get rehearsal started meet me down there?" He asked.
"Of course," I smiled.
"Bring Selene with you alright?"
"Will do," he kissed me quickly before slipping out of the door.
I got dressed as well and met Selene in the living room. "Ready to see the new project?" I beamed.
"I guess," she smiled thinly.
We walked and talked briefly as we made the short trek to the theater.
The cast was gathered in the house as Gustave stood in the pit. "alright now that everyone is here we can get started." Gustave greeted jovially.
"With what?" I questioned.
