A/N: Hi guys! Sorry I didn't update sooner, I just got out of school on Christmas break and I took a day (or six) to relax. Its also really short cause its midnight where I live and im super tired. Anyway here's chapter four.
The metallic tang of blood made me loosen the grip on my lip. I had gotten home only a few minutes before and I was a complete mess. I had immediatly rushed off to my room, incapable of controlling my tears. Not only had I seen Daniel here, bringing up many painful memories, there was a good chance I had just lost my childhood best friend as well.
At this point I was furious. Why could she not deal with the fact that I had kept a secret from her? She didn't need to know every facet of my life!
But the other half of me was upset that I has lost her. I wasn't sure if I would be close with her again. Despite her reaction she still held a place in my heart and I couldn't ignore that.
I rubbed the heel of my hands into my eyes, trying to clear them of their tears and smeared make-up. My shoes were kicked to the floor and my hair was pulled back into a messy bun at the top of my head. I changed into a pair of grey sweatpants and a red t-shirt, before walking off to the bathroom to wash off make-up. Just as I finished, dabbing my face with a towel, a voice pulled me from my thoughts.
"Rough day huh?" My eyes snapped over to look at Josh who stood at the doorway, arms crossed.
I sighed, "I though you had practice. "
"I did, but it ended early so I came home." He shrugged. "So do you wanna talk about it?"
"I don't want to bore you with the horrible tales of my life.." I laughed, feeling slightly insecure. He was awesome but I really didn't want to talk his ears off.
"You couldn't possibly. Come on, I was about to watch The Giver." He gave me a small smile, winning me over.
"Alright." I shrugged and followed him into the kitchen. We sat on the couch, a large blue comforter strung out between us.
"Ok spill the beans Lil Ms. Graham." He said placing a bowl of popcorn in his lap. With that I spurted out the story to him. Everything from my childhood and meeting Linsey up to the argument we had today and everyhing going through my mind. Joshua listened intently, nodding and pitching in with encouraging words every now and then. He thought Linsey was overreacting, though he could partially understand where she came from. He told me that I should talk to her about it, that our relationship had lasted for many years that we can't throw it away like that.
We talked for what seemed like at least an hour before he finally started the movie, popcorn long cold, not long later I found myself drifiting off into a restful sleep, my head resting on his shoulder.
The next one will be longer love you guys!
