Angel of Hell
Chapter One:
The heat would be unbearable to a human. Their flesh would burn and their screams would echo and crash against oblivion. Ricocheting off the agony of others as if in duel to see whose despair was the most profound.
Their eyes would wander and look out, bloodless vessels searching for a way . An escape from the torture that is by definition self inflicted, as the punishment for the sin only matches the sinner.
Minds race at the realization that they have been damned. And through the flames they see a figure, though the pain of their skin incinerating, bubbling and growing back is unbearable; they manage to clearly make out the words of the beautiful being in front of them. "The disbelievers will be in the torment of hell to abide therein forever. The torment will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the wrongdoers."
Even then the celestial man in front of them did not scare them, yet soothed the aching pains and brutal tortures of their Tophet. The Angel of Hell was God sent, and the people of the fiery oblivion feigned for his presence.
"I have roamed these flames since my conception. I am the Angel of Hell." This was the customary reply Malik would give to the common questions he would receive from those coherent enough to ask. "Who are you?" and "How long have you been here?"
Malik felt a tugging at the upper middle of his spine, right in the center at the point from which his wings grew and branched out. He did what was natural and shook them from their invisible holdings. He spread them out and they came to be ten feet in length. In this form he was 6'1. Dark skin, slanted low eyes, full lips, wide nose, black nappy hair, square chin, and low eyebrows, he was gorgeous. The tugging at his back got stronger. He was tempted to defy god just a little. A fleeting thought crossed his mind. "I control my own destiny." He quickly shook it off. No. God was his holder as he'd been since the beginning of time.
The angel flapped his wings once and levitated out of the grasp of the damned. With the second flap he was nearing the gates to earth. He reached his hand out to wave open the gates, they closed tightly behind him. He landed on the edge of a volcano. He'd always stopped on earth. His curiosity never let him continue onto heaven otherwise he'd be distracted and commit error in his duty to god. He took in the islands that surrounded the one on which he'd landed on. Green and lush, the environment had a serene feeling that'd felt unreal. Even to a being that'd seen heaven. Malik glanced down. He swept his surroundings taking in any and everything, his eyes stopped, glued to a dot of red moving up the edge of the volcano east of him.
His eyes automatically adjusted and he looked closer to see it was a woman. No older than 17.
He glided over to her and stood a little ways up beyond her reach but still in her path. She looked in his direction but he was not worried for no mere mortal could see him. He looked at the girl with curiosity, as he would peer upon the earth. Her hair was wind blown and shoulder length. He reached out to grab a strand, but he froze at the sound of her voice.
"I see you...Angel of hell... And I will be your undoing."
