Malik looked around him. His eyes fell on a river. His heart thudded in his chest surprising him greatly. Something was pushing him towards the moving water. He turned in a circle half expecting a nymph to be at his back shoving him down the slope. There was no nymph.

The tugging got stronger and his heart started thudding even harder. He shook his wings free and floated down the natural embankment. He stopped and looked around again; at this point the tugging became almost a tangible force. At first he couldn't see her but he felt her presence. He peered closer into the river. She was water within water.

Leilani turned around and looked straight at him. Her heart stopped. She shifted into her regular form, dress and all. He spoke and she felt as if her knees had shifted back into water. She looked down to make sure her knees were still there, they were.

She began to walk towards him. Without her even meaning to her arms lifted and she moved to embrace him. She stopped cold in her tracks. Uncertainty and heartache was clear in her expression. The angel stood stoic and unresponsive his face not betraying the erratic beating within his chest.

For a few moments he was immobilized by his own indescribable emotion.

"Who are you...why does it hurt to see you ... girl?"

Her tears began to flow. "I can't tell you..." her voice cracked. He felt an anger rise in him, struck by the anguish in her voice. "Why not?" She moved forward and buried her face in his chest. She shook her head voice muffled she muttered "You shall not be known, your face will become unfamiliar, your touch will be foreign, your heart shall not beat but the one you once held will seek the rhythm of you which will lay dormant until you can sacrifice and lay in temporary slumber of which only pain will bring and nectars will revive." The lines began to appear on her arms and her face began to burn. She moved a couple inches away. Close enough to see into his eyes but not touching.

His mind raced. Something in the back of his mind began to push but could not find leniency on whatever barriers had been placed on his thoughts. Instead he heard Ares's voice boom in his head "YOU ARE NOTHING. YOU ARE A SERVANT OF GOD AND A WEAPON. KILL HER NOW!" Something didn't seem right, this girl? Well it was apparent she was more than a girl but how could she be a threat to the god?

"Who are you?"

She looked up at him. "My father was a human crime lord. My mother was a water deity...I am no half blood. I was stripped of my blood when- "She paused. "I am daughter of Artemis Born on the fourth day of Julius to Latoya and Brian. Sibling to the deities Lathan the Ismenian dragon and Landyn Ladon the guarder of the golden apples. I am adopted child of Fredrick Talos the giant...I am the thief who stole Pandora's soul and consumed the box. I am the flower forbade from heaven"

"No, what is your name?"

She looked up pondering clear on her face; he had never asked her name. In all the years they had endured their punishment he'd never asked her name. "Leilani...my name is Leilani."

His chest contracted painfully, as his orders rang in his head.

"You will find the half deity Leilani and kill her. You will burn her corpse and make sure her ashes are put in this jar."

He hadn't noticed she reach her hands up until she had cupped his face in both hands. The strain in his head became stronger. She was speaking but he couldn't hear her words. It obvious something about his face had her full attention. All of a sudden he could not control himself. In his hand a sword materialized. It was long and plated gold. Too flashy for the angel but it was given to him the god to complete his task.

His hand drew back and he plunged the sword through her stomach.

Her eyes widened in shock and then slighted in pain. Blood dripped from the wound and onto the earth. The sword evaporated and the wound burned like hot coals. She staggered away from the angel and began to clutch at her stomach. She was losing her life's blood. She had been so focused on the pain that had seemed to consume the angel that she had not realized he had intent to harm her. He had not bothered to follow her to the water's edge, once again he seemed to be pained, so much that he'd fallen to knees and was clutching his head. She began to lose her sight. Black dots swam in her eyes. She stepped into the water and shifted...but as soon as she shifted lost consciousness.
