Chapter 12: Pups & The Tower

Third person POV

"Ugh!!!" complained Rowdy. "It's so hot!" Him and the other pups were outside baking alive. Ginger panted. "Be quiet, you're only making it hotter," she said. Rowdy glared a bit at her.

"It is abnormally hot today," commented Marshall. He looked up to the sun using his paws to block the heat. "It's the summer time you guys, what do you expect?" asked Nightlight. Winnie bit at her father's ear trying to initiate play time. "Not now Winnie, it's too hot," he said panting.

"It's not all bad," she said in response. "It is. I honestly don't understand how you aren't hot," said Rowdy. "I just think of cool things and it helps!" she said smiling. "Oooh really? I wanna try!" said Marshall his tail wagging. All the pups nodded standing up and tried to do what Winnie said. "Hm. It works for a bit," said Skye. "Until I remember that it's all fake," said Rocky. Everyone groaned and fell to the ground again while Winnie looked at them sheepishly.

The front door to the lookout opened and out came Aniyah and Ryder. They looked and saw the pups. Smiling a bit, Aniyah knew they were about to make the pups day with the stuff they were carrying. They both walked up to the pups greeting them. "Hey pups!" said Ryder while Aniyah waved. The pups looked to see their two leaders. They all groaned out a hi. "Ryder, what's that you're carrying?" asked Rocky sitting up. "Please tell me it's something to handle the heat!" said Skye.

"Mhm. Since it's so hot today, Ryder and I thought it would be the perfect time to bring out the pool!" said Aniyah. All the pups jumped up barking. "Great idea!" said Rubble. "Nothing like a nice play in the pool to cool you down," said Zuma. "Alright everyone, help us real quick," said Ryder. The pups came over and they all helped with the pool. (It's a medium sized blow up pool by the way)

Now, the pups played in the pool while Marshall finished filling it. Ryder and Aniyah sat close by watching them and talking to each other.

"Cannon ball!!!" said Rowdy. He ran and jumped into the pool making it splash and wet all the pups. They all laughed and cheered Rowdy on. "That was awesome!" said Rowdy. "You call that a cannon ball? Watch out!" Ginger went to do one while the others watched and played in the pool splashing each other. Rocky shook. "I don't really like getting wet but I guess since it's hot, it's alright," he commented.

Oh yeah I forgot to tell you, Winnie was hiding by Aniyah. Even if it was hot, pools weren't her thing. Winnie watched as Marshall ran to the pool after taking his uniform off. "Wait for me you guys! Whoa!" He tripped and rolled landing into the pool.

SPLASH!

"I guess that was a splash!" he laughed making everyone else laugh too. "I'm gonna get you Chase!" said Nightlight splashing him. Chase shook then looked at her. "Splash Nightlight everyone!" he said. "Yeah!" said everyone including her kids. "Wait. What?!" She screamed and ran away laughing while being chased.

Aniyah giggled looking at the pups having fun. "Getting the pool was a good idea Ryder, now they're all happy and playing around," said Aniyah. "Yeah. I thought a nice cool splash in the pool would make them feel better," said Ryder. Winnie climbed into Aniyah's lap. "How come you're not out there Winnie?" asked Aniyah. "It'll be lots of fun and cool you down," added Ryder. Winnie looked at them then at the pool with the rest of the pups unsure. "I don't know... I'm not really a big fan of water," she said. "Neither is Rocky but he's fine," said Ryder.

The three looked up to see Rocky get a face full of water. "At least it seems like it." Aniyah pet Winnie. "I'll go with you, come on." She stood holding Winnie and walked over to the pool. All the pups stopped and looked. "Mind if Winnie joins you all?" she asked. "Not at all!" said the pups. Nightlight went to Aniyah and took Winnie and slowly put her in the water. Winnie stood a bit timidly and shaking. "It's okay sweetie," said Star. She put a bit of water on Winnie and Winnie calmed down.
