Nine

The man started to shift as his eyes scanned the open field. He could smell Mina Hale there and she brought a guest. He spent months looking for her after she escaped. So when he caught her scent, he was giving the most sinister grin he could have. His boss is going to be pleased.

"Come out, Mina!" he shouted. His canines started to come out as he slowly shifts. "Where is this Warrior Alpha I heard so much about?!"

Mina was glaring at Derek. She was going to sneak up on the wolf until he just showed up. So she needed to plan her attack quickly, without his help. Mina's bloody Alpha eyes started to glow as she started to shift.

"You're not fighting him," Derek said. "We have to leave now."

"The only one leaving is you," Mina snapped. She gave him a nasty glare before grabbing the back of his neck and ramming his temple against the tree, knocking him out. This is her fight. She didn't want anyone standing in her way.

Mina slowly walked out of her hiding spot and growled at the man. "Where is he, Trevor?" she sneered.

Trevor's grin widened. "He who? You've got to be more specific."

"You know who I'm talking about you annoying piece of shit. That harpie-shaping purple-eyed fucking asshole!" Mina snapped.

Trevor chuckled. "Oh, him. He a bit here. He's a bit there. He's on a bit of exploration looking for you. I told him to check your hometown. Memories or not, all dogs go back to their marked territory. Wait 'til I tell him I've finally found you." Trevor took a threatening step forward as his blue eyes shined. "He's going to love having all that power to himself." His claws flicked out. "He never told me if you should be brought back dead or alive."

Trevor roared at her. Mina roared back as both wolves lunged at each other. Mina leaped forward and grabbed Trevor. Her claws sunk into his shoulders as they rolled on the ground, grappling each other. Trevor grabbed the back of Mina's head and brought it down for a hard headbutt before swiping her chest. Mina growled as the man kicked her off. Trevor ran forward and tried to swipe at her again. Mina kept dodging each attack and eventually ducked under before sending a swift uppercut. Trevor went flying in the air as Mina ran after him. She jumped up and grabbed his neck before slamming him into the ground.

"You really want to challenge me?" Mina sneered as she began choking the wolf.

Trevor chuckled. "Yeah, pretty much."

Trevor flicked his claws out and rammed them into Mina's abdomen. Mina started to choke up on her own blood as it rose in her throat. Trevor grinned while flipping them over and plunged his claws deep into her.

"Lex is going to be happy when I give him your heart," Trevor said as he held up his other claws. "He was going to do it but...the boss ain't here."

Trevor roared and was about to impale Mina's chest but he was suddenly kicked off her. Derek took a protective stance in front of Mina as he roared at him.

"I told you to leave," Mina panted as she slowly stood up. Her arm was over the wound. She could feel it healing already. She didn't want to admit that if Derek hasn't interfered then she would be dead by now.

"I'm not leaving," Derek declared. "I just got you back. You're not going to die on me again."

"Awe, how cute," Trevor crackled as he stood. "A little brother-sister moment."

"Shut up!" Mina and Derek shouted at him.

"Lex is going to be happy when he hears I killed both Hales."

Derek and Mina roared at him. Derek was the first one to run. Trevor went to swipe at him but Derek leaped over him and sliced his back. Trevor roared as Mina clawed his ankles before standing up kicking him. Trevor growled as he backhanded Derek and grabbed his body before throwing it at Mina. Derek's elbow made contact with Mina's wound, which made her groan as she clung on to it.
