Six

I woke up the next morning to the sound of something smashing downstairs so I leapt out of my bed and raced down the stairs to see what was going on, forgetting that I was still in my pjs.

I saw Elijah standing in the kitchen, a broken mug on the floor in front of him. "Good morning Aurora." He chuckled, I finally realised what I was wearing and tried to pull my top down a little. "I-I heard something smash, I j-just wanted to make sure nobody had broken in..." I stuttered. He chuckled lightly and walked over to me, brushing my blonde hair out of my face. "You're ever so adorable when you stutter, my love." He planted a kiss on my cheek before cleaning up the mess on the floor. I trotted back up the stairs and into my room, making my way to my wardrobe to get dressed for a day of shopping with Rebekah.

I decided to keep my outfit for the day relatively simple. I finished getting ready and headed down the stairs where I found Rebekah waiting in the living room with Elijah and Nik, thankfully Nik and Elijah weren't fighting this time. "Ready to go, bex?" I grabbed my car keys off the sideboard in the living room. "Aurora, wait." Klaus grabbed my arm. "I'm sorry about yesterday, it was childish of us to be fighting each other like that. I've apologized to Elijah too." He muttered. I pulled him into a hug, which surprised him but he returned the embrace. "It's okay, Nik. Just try not to tear each others heads off while me and Bekah are out shopping." I laughed, walking out the door with Rebekah hot on my tail. "Wanna drive?" I asked as we walked to my car, she nodded in response. I tossed her the keys, getting into the passenger side. "So how was your summer with that guy from Mystic Falls?" I teased as she started the car. "It was great actually, well, that is until one night we were in Prague and we had a threesome with some woman and she ended up robbing us." She laughed. "Any men in your life yet?" She questioned. "Nah, I've sworn off men."I chuckled, earning a cheeky grin from her. "Well, you and Elijah looked cosy this morning." She winked at me playfully. I just rolled my eyes and laughed. Soon enough we were at the mall and made our way to one of the fancier shops to get our dresses for the ball. I ended up going for a simple dress meanwhile Rebekah got a few options to choose from. "Okay when we get home you're helping me pick one of these, okay?" She linked our arms as we left the store. "Sure thing." I smiled. When we got back to the compound we found Elijah cooking dinner in the kitchen but Klaus was nowhere to be found. "Where'd Nik go?" I asked, plopping myself onto the bar stool at the kitchen island. "He had to go see Marcel, he should be back soon. Sister could you set the table please? Dinners almost ready." He gave the pasta a quick stir before turning the hob off. I leaned over to grab a bit of chicken but Elijah quickly slapped the back of my hand lightly, signalling for me to go and help Rebekah set the table. I took my heels off and went to help Rebekah but she had already finished and was sat on the sofa with her phone glued to her hands. "Who's that, loverboy?" I teased, sitting myself beside her. "No it's Kol. He's bringing Davina to dinner. Could you set up an extra spot at the table please?" She tilted her head and pouted at me. I rolled my eyes, getting off the sofa and setting the extra spot. "Hmm, I wonder when you're gonna bring loverboy for dinner." I laughed, twirling round. "Never. He kinda hates vampires, especially my brother's." She sighed. "Why?" I questioned, sitting back on the sofa. "Well, to cut a long story short. Elijah sort of helped find Katherine's doppelganger Elena for Klaus, who then 'sacrificed' her for his ritual to become the hybrid, Kol crushed his hand at one of our balls and I killed Elena and almost killed him in the process. Oh and Damon Salvatore turned his sister into a vampire but she tried to kill Elena and her brother, so Stefan Salvatore stuck a stake in her heart." My eyes widened at her response. "And the guy spent the whole summer traveling the world with you after all of that?" I laughed slightly. "God you could talk your way out of hell" I laughed, getting up to go get a blood bag.
