I'd just left the compound for my shift at Rousseau's, my headphones in playing 'Chasing Rainbows' by Bring Me The Horizon when someone tapped my shoulder, I spun around and instinctively punched the person before me in the face, not realizing it was Kol. "Oh my god, Kol I'm so sorry!" I covered my mouth with my hand. "It's quite all right, darling. Hell of a swing you're packing there, Rebekah teach you that?" He chuckled, bringing me into a hug. "What brings you to New Orleans then? More quarrels with Klaus?" I joked. He looked at me up and down. "Something's different about you." He said matter of factly. "You're a vampire." He said, almost a little bit too loudly. I looked around and dragged him down an alley. "I asked Elijah to turn me last night, it's my best chance at surviving Klaus." I said quietly. "What do you mean? Is he threatening you?" He had this rage in his eyes, Kol has always been very protective of me, but I've never seen him look so angry. "No he hasn't been threatening me, but I'm meeting him after my shift at Rousseau's to talk and I don't see it ending well at all." I explained. "You know, being a vampire, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have the strength to fight with him right?" I rolled my eyes at his response. "I know but it gives me a bit of an advantage. Plus if it comes to that he won't be expecting me to fight back, I was a nervous wreck when I saw him at the compound yesterday." We began walking back out of the alley and headed towards Rousseau's. "Fair enough, I'll see you soon, got some witch business here so I'll be sticking around for a while." He planted a kiss on my cheek, leaving me outside the doors to the bar. After a miserable day of drunk men flirting with me, the end of my shift came but Klaus hadn't shown up yet. I decided to go sit down at a table and wait, it seemed like I was waiting forever but finally 40 minutes late Klaus turned up looking more angry than usual. He spotted me and walked over to me, standing in front of me and rather than sitting down he grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the bar. "What the hell are you doing? Get off me!" I yelled at him, we finally stopped down some dark alley. He ran his fingers through his dirty blonde curls before turning around and pinning me to the wall. "You asked Elijah to turn you?!" He yelled. "Why the hell would you do that?!" He slammed his fist against the wall, causing his knuckles to bleed. How did he find out about it? "I heard you and Kol talking in this very alley about it this morning." He spat, as if he could read my mind. "Why do you care so much? I'm not your property." I crossed my arms. "Because I don't want this life for you Aurora! If you end up killing someone the guilt would eat you alive! Maybe even enough for you to flip off your humanity damn it!" He yelled. I think this is the first time he's ever truly cared for me. A hint of concern glazed over his angry expression and it looked as though he might cry.
