18 ❥ we need to talk

mark's gone to the shower at least four times today, this time now being the fifth.

he was hit by a tsunami of emotions as soon as he saw the back of his best friend's head getting further and further away from him that night.

sleep did not come easy to him. routinely breakdowns had soon become mark's best friend, and he didn't even have to look in the mirror to know that his under eyes were strikingly dark and his eyes were as red as as a stoner's.

i am a horrible person.

like most people, mark lee was no stranger to falling into a contemplative state of nonstop thinking in the shower.

before hyuck had left, his thoughts were usually about the two doing very suggestive things, but now those thoughts were long gone.

he wanted his best friend back, not just because of his body.

mark felt like an absolute ass when the memory of him helping the younger get off one night popped into his mind after a particularly cold round of water droplets hit his back.

if he did like me back, he would have been convinced that the feelings were mutual, especially after that happened.

he groaned and cranked the knob so that boiling hot water was now coming out of the shower head. it was relaxing on the muscles, but it also stung like hell. mark thought of it as punishment.

when he was out of the bathroom, he immediately logged onto his wattpad account, feeling helpless.

he already had quite the following, known only for his thoughtful comments on many of the popular markhyuck books on the platform.

he posted an announcement, hoping to get at least a few replies on his message board.

" guys, i need your advice. what do you do when your best friend leaves you after you reject them? i'm kinda in a difficult position right now.. haha. "

now we wait.

after ten minutes passed, mark was delighted to see that he had three responses.

mark decided to reply to her. he had read every single one of her markhyuck fanfictions, and it seemed reasonable to ask for advice from someone who often wrote about his relationship with the younger in multiple ways.

—— " yes. but i declined them because i was scared about how it would affect us. "

she replied in less than a second.

—— " ah, i see. well i'm guessing that you have other close friends to ask, and those close friends might be who they're with right now. maybe ask them for some advice on how to deal w/ your friend. "

mark's eyebrows furrowed at the accuracy of the message. he had yet to figure out where hyuck was, but there was no denying the fact that he was most certainly with the 00 line right now.

—— " okay, thx! also you seem to know a lot about relationships hahaha "

—— " lmao no worries. funny bc one of my wip books has a plot very similar to this 😳 "

—— " can't wait to read it! "

mark then opened the messages app, his finger hovering over renjun's contact name.

but he was interrupted by persistent knocking on his door.

"who's there?" he asked.

"it's me, taeyong, and the rest of your hyungs.

we need to talk."
