"Yeah, I would be surprised if you're actually not here."
Stepping inside the bus station, Jennie sat beside Yoongi. "I was kind of expecting you." Yoongi said. "Huh, I'll be abducted by aliens if I'm not here one day." Jennie chuckled. Yoongi softly grinned, his eyes shocked to see Jennie's bruised face. "Beaten up by a bunch of jealous girls again?" Yoongi asked. "Huh? Oh, yeah. They're mental." Jennie laughed, pulling her hood over her face. "Shouldn't you report them? They'll continue to hurt you if you let this slide." Yoongi said.
But he's a monster, how can I report him?
"Aniya, gwanchana." Jennie smiled. Yoongi nodded, though he wanted to convince Jennie over and over again, he decided mind his own business. "Why do you always come here anyways?" Jennie asked. "I use the bus to go home from work." Yoongi replied. "You work???"
"I'm not rich like you." Yoongi replied. ?Ani, I'm not rich, my parents are." Jennie defended. "Hm, really? I'm pretty sure that scarf cost more than thousands." Yoongi laughed. "It's not, it's the cheapest scarf!" Jennie said. "Plus, it's not me who bought it.."
Yoongi raised an eyebrow. "It may the cheapest scarf in the household, but it's backstory is the most valueble price you have ever came across." Jennie smiled. "It was a gift from my father to my mother. They weren't really rich back then, they couldn't afford fancy livings, but they were fine as long as they had each other locked up in their heart. That one time where they celebrated their anniversary as husband and wife, my parents came across a display of fancy outfits. My mother took interested on the scarf from the display, my father knows that, but they couldn't afford the price. My mother then hides the fact that she loves the scarf, and tried to assure my father she doesn't need it. My father wasn't convinced, and stubornly worked day and night to get that scarf." Jennie grinned. "I remember I had to to wait 'till midnight for him to come home, he was all so exhausted and tired.."
Yoongi turned his gaze to the girl beside him. "My father manage to buy that scarf for my mother, but before he could reach for us, he met with an accident that cost his life on Valentine's day. As a young kid, I knew nothing about death back then.. I saw him lying on the ground, pilled up with his own fresh blood as my mother's screams of pain and horror pierced through the lovely night. And as young child, I could do nothing but to stare at her blankly, unknowingly letting her suffer alone." Jennie sated.
The boy widens his eyes, "Then why the hell did you give it to me?!" "Aish, calm down grandpa." Jennie scolded. "You looked like you badly need it, so I gave it to you." "And that's your reason?" Yoongi raised an eyebrow.
Jennie softly tugged the end of her lips, "I just thought, if that scarf gave me comfort, maybe it'll give you comfort too."
Jennie turned to stare at Yoongi's shocked eyes, her brown eyes piercing through the black one's. "Well, it actually did.." Yoongi quietly said. And they both sat in silence again..
"I just thought, if that scarf gave me comfort, maybe it'll give you comfort too."
Yoongi huddled up in a corner, his hands holding the scarf tightly. He nuzzled to the scarf, calming his thoughts. Jennie Kim was right, the scarf gave nothing but comfort to the blonde haired boy. It made him feel warm, alive, accompanied..
But was it because it held the history of a tragedy couple who had nothing but love for each other? Or does this scarf actually bares magical powers?
No, it's none of it, and Yoongi knows that clearly.
He sniffled the scent again, eyes closing in peace before drifting to his own hiraeth. Yoongi had always thought that it was the scarf that calmed him, but he was wrong. The scent of a particular existence calmed him down, a scent that he'll never ignore, a scent that will forever remain familiar.
