A bittersweet feeling followed me to the bus stop. Everything felt as though it was coming to a close. The summer air had slowly been cooling and Nikko was due back to school in less than a week.

Sadly the same was true for Kuroo.

His college was a few cities away, meaning that our daily hangouts would now be reduced to calls and seeing each other every other weekend.

Still, it was better than nothing. Actually, I quite enjoyed the feeling, the idea of something new. No longer would I be pick pocketing and lying, worrying over school and my part time job was now a trouble of the past. Now I had a plan.

So did Kuroo.

The real beauty, however, that including the other in each of our futures was logically inconvenient. Yet we did it anyway, simply because I strongly believe logic doesn't apply to us.

Not after we blatantly lied to a social worker.

The bus stop was quiet as I sat waiting on the bench. The setting sun somehow only increased to nostalgia of the moment as memories of my summer passed as quickly as the cars the drove by.

Trees behind me whistled in the comforting dusk breeze, footsteps were heard passing me every so often as well. My gaze focused so solidly on the rose garden across the street that I hadn't noticed Kuroo approaching until he was seated beside me on the bench.

He worse simple black jeans and a white t-shirt. He had paired the outfit with a jean jacket. Luggage piled beside him, making the encounter only that much more real.

"Hey," I greeted. I didn't hesitate to move closer to him, not stopping until our arms were brushing each other and my hand laid on top of his.

"Hey," he said in return, turning to look at me.

Even though every hour seemed to be his golden hour, he looked especially good in the dusk lighting that cascaded over the town. A small, wistful smile washed over my lips. "Nikko and I are going to miss you," I found myself saying.

"I'll miss you guys too." He moved his hand so it was now on top of mine and intertwined our fingers. "I'll still be coming to visit on weekends."

"I know," I hummed. "It's just a big change."

"Yeah," Kuroo agreed. "But I'd say it's a good one."
