"You got your wallet stolen?" Lev cackled, his obnoxious laughter was only cut short when Yaku kicked him.
"Stop laughing," he instructed, though I could tell Yaku was holding in a laugh of his own. "How would you like it if your wallet got stolen?"
"I wouldn't," Lev muttered, holding where he got kicked by the libero.
"Did you get it back?" Kenma asked, more focused on his phone than the conversation.
Yamamoto grinned, "Was it a girl?"
"What even happened?" Inuoka questioned after taking a drink from his water bottle.
I wasn't sure why I brought it up, I knew I'd be teased relentlessly but I still found myself talking. "No, I didn't get it back, yes it was a girl, and what happened isn't important."
"What's the point of telling us if you won't spill what even happened?" Lev asked, flinching as he snuck a glance at Yaku.
"I don't know," I said, "Just thought I'd share."
"So was she cute?" Yamamoto asked, "What did she look like?"
His questions made me recall a girl that looked oddly familiar. I thought I had saw her in the hallway today, but by the time I did a double take she was gone.
"I guess she was cute," I muttered, "But I refuse to admit it since she snagged my wallet."
"So she flirted with you?" Kenma had his usual expressionless face but there was something close to amusement dancing in his features.
"Yeah," I answered. "I did think it was weird I didn't have to use my pick up lines. But I just assumed it was because no one can resist my charm!"
"Or your money," Kai added.
"Speaking of which, do you guys know anyone named Sochiru Yokotawaru?" I asked. "That's what she said her name was."
"No," Yaku answered, "Maybe she gave you a fake name. What did she look like?"
"Grey eyes, thick, wavy brown hair," I began my description, "She's probably around your height," I gestured to Yaku.
"There's a girl in my class that fits the description," Yaku thought for a moment, "But she doesn't seem like someone who would steal wallets."
"She told me she was in college," I recalled, "But thinking about it she probably lied. But I did think I saw her today, during lunch right outside your classroom."
Yaku thought for a moment before checking the time, "She's going to a study group today, she's probably there right now. In fact, we might be able to catch her leaving since she said she had to get her younger brother from school."
"She had a brother!" I yelled, "I saw them the other day again! Little middle schooler, around eleven!"
"That's weird," Lev commented. "She really did have you fooled, though. Fake name, fake age, let me guess, she gave you a fake number too?"
I gave him a very unimpressed look, "That's beside the point. Now what's her name?"
"Kazoku Futarikiri," Yaku answered. "I don't know if it's her. She seems so quiet and shy."
"Stoic?" I added, after a few moments Yaku nodded. "This is too many coincidences for it to just not be her."
"Are going to get your money back now?" Inuoka asked.
"I'll try," I muttered. "Last time I saw her it didn't go over too well."
"Well this time we'll be there to back you up!" Lev assured me.
Yaku shot him a glare. "You won't be."
"Why not?" Lev whined, putting his water bottle down. "Don't want me there to make you look even shorter?"
Yaku didn't hesitate to kick him. "No," he claimed. "You'll be working on your receives. Now you've sat on your ass long enough, get on the court."
Just like that we all moved back to play volleyball. My mind was elsewhere, though.
The girl who's name was apparently Kazoku Futarikiri kept coming to mind. My previous annoyance wasn't as strong. I was never one to hold grudges, the longer I went without another encounter the more rational I became.
It was both a blessing and a curse.
At this point, I wasn't even sure what I'd do if I did see her again. Mess with her would be an obvious answer. Could I blackmail her with the idea I'd tell a sensei? Would that even work? She didn't seem to care too much when I threatened to press charges.
In the end, it could only go wrong for her.
I kept glancing out of the window, trying to catch a glimpse of a brown haired girl leaving the school. It never happened, though.
Maybe I missed her one of the few times I was forced to pay attention. Long rallies and moments when I was up to hit or block specifically. I doubt that was the case. She wasn't tall enough to walk that fast.
Just as I was about to give up, I saw movement out of the window as I was collecting stray volleyballs.
My head shot up, looking out of the window. It was her. I would recognize the mass of hair anywhere.
"Yaku," I called and he rushed over.
"Do you need a stool?" Lev asked as he observed Yaku struggling to see out of the window even when on his toes.
"I will kick your ass," Yaku told him, keeping his attention of the girl that was leaving the Nekoma gates.
"That's definitely her," I told him, "Is that Futarikiri?"
"Yeah," Yaku shrunk and I realized he went back to standing on his flat feet.
A grin made its way to my face, I felt oddly happy with the assurance that it was her. "I know what I'm going to do tomorrow."

Okay, I've never written any of these characters before so I hope they are good enough.
Honestly, writing Lev and Yaku was fun, just a lot of short jokes and abuse.
But honestly that's how it is in my friend group.
Anyway thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
