Prue unfolded her legs under her and sat up from her oversized velvet couch. "We have to call the cops and tell them that some random psychos intruded your house!"

"There's no way the police is going to believe that a blondie can teleport and a lady who can electrocute people. It doesn't make any sense," I crossed my legs, "Besides, I almost killed someone."

"Well then, have you find out whatever that 'society of pretty natural shadows' thing is?"

"It's preternatural, not pretty natural, and there's literally nothing about it on the internet,"

"Nana Winters did mentioned something about 'Pre-ter-na-tu-ral' shadows, right? What else did she say in that letter?"

"Um... I left it in the house. But I think she said something about 'the answers we seek will find us in unexpected ways'? I'm not sure if I'm saying it correctly-"

"That's it!"

"What?"

"Maybe those psychos are your answers!"

"They don't look like the answers I'm looking for."

"They might be your guide to finding your answers! Oh Clo, how can you be so smart yet so stupid at the same time?"

I shrugged. The next morning, I decided to head back home. Prue and Harvey insisted to accompany me just in case the gangsters are back to cause any more trouble. To my surprise, the front door was closed and everything inside of the house was completely normal as if no one came. The blood was gone and the floor was squeaky clean. Though it smelled of florals and vanilla scented candles. I scurried up the stairway, the door to my bedroom was wide opened and so was my window, which I've escaped from. Prue, Harvey and I sat in a circle on the floor and took turns reading the letter my grandma wrote, but there wasn't anything new that could help me.

When the clock struck 9 at night, I grabbed my tote bag from my locker and left Cedric's Library. It was my favourite part of the day after working tirelessly for 12 hours. Luminous stars shimmered underneath a pitch-black curtain draping over the sky, the tranquility of the night sky comforts my soul. I ambled along the dark alley of Maple Street while taking in the silver glow of the moon. Everything always look different at night especially in this neighbourhood. I always preferred nighttime, not because I was off from work, but because I could enjoy the silence, and my ginger hair and imperfections could be hidden. I was on the way home when a cute, little puppy sprang towards me in bounding steps. I jumped, almost losing my balance when it leaped up. I noticed the tag around its neck that stated 'LEXA'.

"Aww, you're so adorable, little Lexa" I rubbed the ears of the poodle. It was wriggling and wagging constantly, its wet tongue licked furiously at its paws.

"Are you lost?" I asked, at the same time it whimpered. I couldn't help but kissed its tiny nose, "Okay, okay, wanna come home with me? We'll find your owner tomorrow, alright?"

As though it understood what I was saying, it barked excitedly. I bent down to carry the little poodle and returned home. Once I closed the front door, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around, only to find that Lexa had transformed into a guy with blonde hair brushing the top of his broad shoulders. I dropped my tote bag, my brain stuttered for a moment, every part of me was on pause. "What in the world?"

"Chloe Rose Winters! It's nice to see you again!" a recognisable, dulcet voice greeted me.

I shrieked and bounced on my feet. It was the psychos again, but this time they weren't wearing black leather jackets, instead they wore normal clothes. There were only three of them; the African American lady, who electrocuted me, was absent.
