(Soulmate AU)

No one's POV

It has been a year since Kageyama was looking for his soulmate and it has been days since he have dreams about them, he couldn't really understand why but he knew that'll he'll find them sooner or later

Kageyama woke up from the sound of his alarm clock, gently turning it off. The male started to do his usual routine before leaving to go to school

While the male was making his way to the school, a certain ball of sunshine appeared from the corner which immediately pissed kageyama as he ignored the male who greeted him

You see, Kageyama and Hinata are soulmates though kageyama was against it. He didn't want anyone as 'stupid' as hinata as his soulmate, though he wouldn't admit his true feelings towards the ginger male who followed closely behind him

"Are you okay kageyama?" Hinata asked the male in front of him as he caught up and tilted his head but of course kageyama only gave him the cold treatment, the ginger frowned at this before looking ahead and focus on other things instead

The walk was silent, no one ever dared to break it anyways since the tension between them was quite awkward or some sort

Since kageyama and hinata were on the same class, they both turned to the corner before sliding the door open and went to their respective seats

Hinata's POV

I stared at my pinky which had a string tied into it, the string was connected to kageyama's though he wouldn't want to admit that his soulmate was a boy, yes that was the reason kageyama wont talk to me

He was embarrassed

He was disappointed

He was angry

Those thoughts continued to linger on my mind but those thoughts were cut off when the bell began to ring signaling that class is starting

(Timeskip: Lunch)

I was sitting with nishinoya and tanaka on the roof, we were eating quietly but not until tanaka decided to break the silence

"What's going on between you and kageyama? You guyd have been ignoring each other, or is it just kageyama who's been ignoring you?" Tanaka said before shoving a spoonful of rice into his mouth

I was about to answer when someone said something that made me freeze

"I heard that there was this girl who can cut people's strings! But to those who request to cut their string will most likely die"

"Really?"

"Yeah!"

The world around me began to disappear

S-should i do it?

I didn't noticed the tears that was streaming down my face and i can feel nishinoya and tanaka's concerned stares. I quickly wiped my tears and stood up, i bowed before taking my leave

If he isn't happy with me, then why not end Me

Sincr i have plenty of time, i went to find the girl who can cut strings. I can't let kageyama find her first or else he'll die without pursuing his dreams

While i was walking with my head down, i bumped into someone and that someone was the one i wanted to talk to

"Gomen" they said before walking pass me, i quickly grabbed their wrist and they haulted

"Can i help you?" A voice of a girl said before i turned around to face her

"Are you the girl who can cut strings?" I asked while tears started forming from the corner of my eyes

"Indeed i am, I'm Kane and you are?"

"Hinata Shoyo"

"Well hinata what businesses do you have to do with me?" She asked before crossing her arms, she was really formal in my perspective. I was trembling, i wasn't sure if i want to do it but at least he can be free right? I wont be there to annoy him anymore

"I would like to cut my string, please" i said as tears started to slide down my face continuesly, she looked at me shocked before replacing her shocked expression into a worried one

"Are you sure you wanna do it? You are gonna die if you do!" She warned me before shaking me violently, she was on the urge to cry

Little do we know that a certain someone was listening to us the entire time while holding his own tears

"P-please just let me cut my string" i begged before sobbing violently

"I can feel this pain everytime i see him get annoyed because of me, i can see the embarrassed look on his eyes when he realize his soulmate was a boy. I don't want to embarrass him more i don't want to make him suffer more so please.." i said as i got on my knees

Kane was sobbing quietly before nodding her head, she took out this glowing scissor and gave it to me. I took the scissor while my hand was trembling, i slowly inch the scissor closer to my string and before i knew it the scissor did a snip sound and my string was now cut off

"BOKE HINATA BOKE!!!" A voice yelled, i looked up to see kageyama with angry tears strimming down his face, he ran to me before hugging me tightly

"Boke hinata...boke...i'm sorry, i am so sorry i made you feel this way" he said as he hugged me tighter but not enough to suffocate me

He pulled away before facing kane who was looking at us with a concerned expression

"Tie the string back together please..." kageyama said only to have a violent sob on response

"I-i can't, the one who can tie strings back is from across the country" she said while she apologized again and again

Kageyama's POV

I stared at her with my eyes widen, i turned around but only to see hinata dlowly disappearing on thin air, he was crying and it pained me to see him crying. I quickly ran to him and hugged him tight, he hugged me back but before i know it, i was hugging myself.

He had disappear...

He's gone...

Forever...

I fall into my knees as i sobbed violently, i can't believe it.

He's gone, i couldn't even tell him my real feelings for him. Today was the day i was gonna confess yet i was too blind to realize that i was actually hurting him so much

The girl beside me kneeled down and drew circles on my back in order to comfort me but after that i couldn't remember anything like a light flashed before my eyes

And before i know it, i forgot my memories with him.
