the deal

I wake up to the ground shaking. I look up and see cracks all over the cave. I hold onto the locket as if it will protect me. I wait until the cave stops moving. I quickly gather myself; I wait a little longer and then using my power I cross my hands over. I watch the rock wall in the pool shudder then suddenly the rocks move. I swim out, I climb out the cave along the boulders and I am met with grey skies. The lake is a muddy colour and the base is gone all is left is a hole. I moved the water up creating a wave. I flow around towards the base. I stop finding bodies and ash. A battlefield.

"no. I didn't stop anything." I whisper.

'but you can.' I turn to find no one. 'follow me.' A light is formed, and a portal opens up. I go through. The planet I find myself on is all purple. I am on top of a cliff face. A hooded figure stands before me.

"who are you."

'death.'

"why am I here?"

'you have something I want, life.'

"what?"

'that' the hooded figure points towards me.

"me?"

'no.'

"I don't understand."

'your body.'

"my what."

'you have a gift.'

"yeah I have many"

'I want just the one.'

"which one?"

'soul.'

"you want my soul."

'no. I want your body because it can make souls.'

"but I will die."

'no, you won't. you will just drift off and leave your body behind. I have seen you do it before.'

"what will I get in return?"

'your friends. The ones you have been having nightmares about.'

"they are dead."

'yes.'

"what's the trick?"

'no trick. Life.'

"stop calling me life."

'it is your name. she who brings happiness.'

"and?"

'your powers are to do with life you are the definition of mother nature. It now time you take your place as the queen of the natural world.'

"ok. How will my friends come back and where?"

'they will come back safe and sound. They will all come back where the crystals are held.'

"the cave."

'are you ready. Life?'

"yes, I am death."

He holds out his hand. I feel my body fall away from me. I stand there. I feel as though nothing has happened until I can't feel my body it is just emptiness. I pick up a rock.

"I'm not a ghost."

'no and you will have to concentrate to get people to see you. Now leave.' With the wave of his hand I am back in the cave.

Lying next to me lies Loki, Nat, Tony and Vision. They all begin to stir. And I hide.

"what happened?" Nat asks sitting up.

"you two are supposed to be dead." Tony says still in his battered suit. "I'm supposed to be dead."

"I'm terribly sorry to disappoint you but what is going on?" Vision says.

I see them confused and dazzled by the situation. "I can help answer that." I say as I come around a large rock.
