As the last song finished, JJ looked into Kie's eyes and caressed her cheek. He felt a wave of emotion, and so did she. It's the kind with butterflies, the kind where the world stops spinning, and everything around you disappears. They both leaned in, and as their lips were almost touching- "KIARA?" She spun around defensively holding JJ's arm, scared who it might be. "Pope?? What the hell are you doing here??" Kiara half yelled, very surprised, and slightly guilty Pope found them like this. But what was she supposed to do? She couldn't say no to him, not right now. She liked him, maybe loved him, but she felt the same way about Pope. They were her best friends! What was she gonna do? "Oh my gosh. I can't believe you Kie! I thought we had something, at least a little thing, but maybe I was wrong. Have fun macking her dude." and with that, he walked away, tears in his eyes. He always knew JJ had a thing for Kie, and she made little hints here and there, but he didn't once think it would ever happen. Her and John B maybe, but Kie and JJ fought like cats and dogs. He walked down to the dock, pondering his life decisions. He should have never thrown away that scholarship, all the gold is gone and John B and Sara are dead, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Pope reached the dock and not long after so did Kiara. "Hey." She said as she sat down next to him. Pope looked out at the water. "Hey" he said, not making eye contact. " look, I'm really sorry. I just," she sighed " I feel so bad for him. He has no one. I dunno it just happened so fast." She finished frowning slightly and looking down at her feet. "It's ok Kie. I feel bad for him too. I understand." And with that he stood up and walked away, leaving Kiara staring out at the horizon .
