It's funny how a new day almost always brings something exciting in its path. Sunshine, love, joy. For me, Park Chaewon, not so much.
Waking up to your apartment building flooded full of water is not something to be proud of. Especially if you can't find your family anywhere in your small home. Your possessions are all ruined, down to the very last bit of memorable bit. Your clothes are drenched and so are any memories that come with this home.
That's where I am today, which is a water flooded home that I currently am stuck in, nowhere to get out. So I sit, wait, and just hope that someone is on their way. Firefighters, police, anyone to help me get out of this waterlogged prison that once was my home. And for a girl who is only 18 years of age... let's just say I hate having patience, because I don't have any.
My family is nowhere to be found.
I lost my father along the way of trying to escape. His body is still floating around the house, or maybe it's sunken now, like a lost boat circling the same island over and over again. You are probably wondering why I'm not freaking out.
That's because for the last two hours I've been screaming and yelling and crying for my father.
I have no idea what is what. If my shirt is drenched in tears or water. I have no idea what it feels like to cry anymore because I've done too much of it. I'm nauseous and hungry, but I can't even eat. My hair is ratted in knots, and my skin is full of blotches of red, white, and purple. My eyes can barely stay open, but it hurts to close them. I couldn't even be there to hold his hand one last time. Stuck on my bed in my room, my father told me to stay where I was. He said he wouldn't be able to live with me dying at such a young age. And to be honest, I was tempted.
All I wanted to do was jump into the water, swim to my father, and die with him. But instead, I was forced to watch him go. To watch him leave this world as he watched me enter it. But of course, I had to pull myself together for the beginning of my story, we start here.
It's been about a few long, miserable hours when suddenly I hear pounding on the door of my apartment.
"Ja! Is anyone here?" The voice yells. It seems to be a younger male's voice that echoes through the hallway of the apartment building. I haven't heard a voice in so long, it seems like, the sound hurts my ears. I can't even talk, but somehow I manage to let out an audible, "Ye! I'm in here!" My throat burns and my body hurts as I try to stand up.
The door bursts open with a loud crash, sending the wood cracking into pieces, chips and bits flinging everywhere.
