Chapter 13: Homecoming Game

"You need to just tell her how you feel and break up with Audrey. She is so uhhh," I said talking to Ben before the game after he told me he cares more about Mal.

"I know but I don't like being the bad guy," Ben said.

"If you won't I can."

"No Lily I need to do it. I wish I had another way to do it."

"Well while you figure that out. I am going to see Carlos and cheer him up."

"If I break up with Audrey you need to ask Carlos to the coronation."

"Fine but only if you break up with her soon." I said holding my hand out.

"Deal," Ben said shaking my hand.

"Carlos you are going to do great," I told Carlos trying to cheer him up before he had to be on the Tourney field.

"Lily I am not very good. I will just make a fool out of myself," Carlos said with his head hung low.

"Carlos look at me," I told him. "You just need to do your best. I will be in the stands cheering you on. I will be next to Mal and Evie. You freak out just look at me okay?"

"Okay. I will see you after."

I found my seat near Mal and Evie and cheered on Ben as loud as I can.

"I gave him the cookie," Mal whispered to me.

"Dang now Ben will win the bet," I mumbled to myself.

"What bet?" Evie said, of course she heard me.

"I told Ben that is he broke up with Audrey. That I would have to ask Carlos to coronation," I told them.

"I can't wait I already been planning matching outfits," Evie said excited.

"O look the game is starting," I said trying to get off this conversation.

"I see you changing the subject," Mal whispered.

"Nope GO CARLOS!!!"" I screamed.

"This is a nail-biter, folks. There's 47 seconds left on the clock. We're all tied up. The Sherwood falcons, two. The fighting knights, two. What a game between Auradon's fiercest rivals. The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone. Akiho! The dragoneers have been laying down a withering hail of fire. And now a substitution...He's bringing that hothead Jay in from the Isle of the Lost and that little guy Carlos can barely hold a shield," the announcer said.

"Look they are putting Carlos in," I said.

"Jay too," Mal said.

"Uh huh," I said not really paying attention.

"When they break from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tipoff is ready. Here we go. Long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes off to prince Ben. Nice little block by Carlos. He does a little dancing jig in his opponent's face. 

And now Jay gets the ball back. Here comes Jay! Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field. Jay makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the kill zone. Big block by Chad! Prince Ben moves over wide, gives it back to Jay. He's in the clear! Shot! Oh, what a save by Philip the Falcons' goalkeeper! 23 seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword.
