Percy's POV

Percy didn't pay attention at the feast.
Well, Percy rarely pays attention. Thank you, ADHD.
But his mind was far from the forum. He didn't know what to do. He's minding his own business, enjoying his new praetorship with his friends, and suddenly a Greek warship comes out of the sky with a girl claiming to be his girlfriend.
He believed her, of course. Something told him that she had meant something to him. But he barely knew anything about her. What if she liked the Greek Percy, and Roman Percy was different?
He couldn't explain it, but when she had hugged him, he felt a sort of righteousness, like that was where he belonged.
But that was impossible. He couldn't just forget someone if they meant that much to him, could he?
He'd also gotten a burst of memories when they embraced, but he couldn't make sense of them. He chose to keep them to himself when Annabeth asked, even though he was pretty sure they all involved her. He just didn't know how.
He'd been in the back of some sort of vehicle that smelled oddly of a petting zoo, his stomach for some reason doing somersaults; then he felt a crushing pain, as if the entire world were falling on top of him, but he was determined to shoulder the pain; then he was in a warm place, sand beneath his feet, longing to be elsewhere with different company; and finally, he felt a tugging sensation in his back while struggling for his life in water he couldn't breathe in. The latter was the strangest. He had always been able to breathe normally in water.
He strained to find more memories, but nothing came to him. Annabeth's description of the camp had helped, but only slightly.
What if he never got his memories back?
He forced himself back to reality. Annabeth was telling the Romans about how they'd found Jason, Piper, and Leo, and their quest to rescue Hera. Percy was still only half-listening. If it was important, he'd hear about it later.
Part of him wondered if "Greek Percy" really was different. Annabeth was nice, sure, but he didn't see anything they had in common. Annabeth was smart, down-to-earth, and tactical while Percy was, well... Percy. He liked going with the flow of things, joking around, sometimes being a little reckless. He just didn't see how they could have gotten along.
He realized she was looking at him expectantly.
Wait. Did he have to give a speech too? He hated speeches.
He cleared his throat. "Sorry, uh... what was that?"
She rolled her eyes as if he had done this before. "Reyna asked you to tell everyone about your quest to defeat Alcyoneous."
       "What? I already did."
"The Greeks, Percy. We need to know every detail we can about Gaea's progress."
       "Okay, Wise Girl. Gods."
It took him a minute to realize what he'd just said. Wise Girl? Where did that come from?
Annabeth bit her lip as if she was trying not to smile. Then she raised her eyebrows and said: "So..."
       "Right, the quest."
Percy proceeded to tell everyone (mainly the Greeks, since the Romans were hearing it for a second time) about his quest with Hazel and Frank. After his two friends had had to butt in multiple times to add details he forgot, they just took over the storytelling completely.

::::::::::

After the meeting, Percy found Frank and Hazel. He needed advice from someone and what better people to ask than the ones in a relationship?
Before he could say anything, Hazel spoke up.
"We're gonna go on that quest, aren't we?" she sounded worried.
"Given that Percy's the only one with a connection the Greeks and we're closest to Percy, probably," Frank said.
Hazel nodded. After a few moments of silence, she asked: "Are you going back with the Greeks once this is all over?"
"I... have no idea," Percy confessed. "I barely even remember anything from that camp. What if I don't even belong there, and that's why Hera brought me here?"
"Annabeth certainly thought you belonged there," Frank said, laughing.
Percy rolled his eyes. "It's just kinda weird that I have a whole life with these people that I don't even know. What if Annabeth expects everything to go back to normal? I don't think I can do that."
"We are going on a quest with her, aren't we? I'm sure you guys will sort things out eventually. Maybe being around her will spark memories." Hazel said. Leave it to Hazel to always find the bright side of things.
"Actually, it already has. Kind of." He told them about the collection of memories he'd had when she hugged him. "I don't know what any of it means. I don't remember the context or anything, just those few things."
"Well, did you ask her about it?" Hazel asked.
        "Who?"
        "Annabeth!" Hazel sighed. "Honestly, Percy..."
"Oh. Right." He felt his cheeks reddening. "Well, no. I wanted to figure it out myself."
"Percy, you may have just met the girl, but she's the best person to help you restore your memory," Frank said. "I think you should just talk to her. If she's the one who sparked those memories, she was probably somehow involved with them."
"I guess," Percy said. "But we have other things to worry about right now. Gaea. The giants. The Prophecy of Seven."
"If we're sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, chances are you'll have some free time." Frank pointed out.
"Yeah," Percy said, still not completely convinced. He didn't want to make Annabeth think that things were going back to normal. Not because he didn't like her, but he just didn't want her to falsely believe anything. What if she thought by spending time together, they were acting as if nothing had happened?
What if, what if, what if. He thought. Stop coming up with every possible way you could screw things up.
What if she doesn't want to help me with my memory issue? What if she wants to focus on the quest like I should be?
       Shut up, He told himself.
      What if-
      BOOM.
The explosion came from the forum, followed by screaming demigods.
      "What was that?" Hazel said.
Percy ran back the way they'd come, Hazel and Frank falling closely behind, until he had a clear view of the forum.
      It was a setup.
Annabeth and her friends were attacking Percy's home.

OoOoOh cliff hanger. Ok not really because we've all read MoA haha.
Also, I'm probably going to only briefly include some of the major events in the beginning of MoA (like the eidolons) since this is technically a Percabeth story.
Anyways I hope you like this part, let me know what you think in the comments! Hope you're all doing well :)
