Hey y'all!! This is my first fanfic in a while so don't judge me too harshly! Also if you like quick, to the point stories that give you a kiss in the second chaper, sorry! That's not how I write unfortunately. This is a great story to read if you like longer, more logical fanfics. There will be cute moments don't worry! I'm a hopeless romantic so you'll get what you came for. Eventually. Haha! Also, I actually do dance so just ignore the dance terms I add in that you may not understand. I add them to make myself feel smart lol. Pay them no heed, my friends! Also, everyone is around 16 in this version. Anyways, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!!
You bend over your bags as you add the last few things to your backpack. You smile as you tuck a pair of satin pointe shoes into a pocket. From downstairs you hear your mom call to you.
"Are you ready to go, Sweetheart?"
"Yep!" You beam as you grab your things and cautiously step down the staircase. Your mom smiles as she grabs her keys and ushers you into the car. A twenty minute drive later and you arrive at a bus stop. You and your mother say your goodbyes as you step onto the awaiting bus that will take you away for the whole summer. As the bus takes off for the woods, you imagine all the things you'll learn at dance camp and how wonderful it will be...

You feel the bus come to a stop and hear the doors swing open.
"Bus is here." You hear the driver croak. You excitedly pluck your things from your seat and shuffle off the bus. You're greeted by a tall man around twenty with red hair and a smile larger than life. His attire looks like your average camp counselor. "Huh.. weird outfit for a dance instructor..." You think.
"Hi!" He beams. "You must be (y/n)!"
You smile brightly. "Yeah, I am."
Behind him, you see a patch of blue. A kid with black hair and tired eyes stares at you.
"I'm David," says the tall man, "and this, here, is Max! You're going to have so much fun here at camp!" He leads you off down the trail and down towards the camp.
"I'm sure I will." You smile.
You hear a scoff from behind you. "Yeah, right." The dark haired boy smirks.
You quickly glance at him. "What's his problem?"As you make your way down the trail, you start to notice other campers wandering about. You spot a boy with brown hair and golden eyes dressed in a yellow shirt with green and white striped puffed sleeves. "Wow," you think, "he looks like hes good at ballet." You want to introduce yourself but David's been rambling on about... wait, what has he been saying? You realize you've zoned out and decide to tune back in.
"... and this is where we do all of our daily activities!" David says. You look at the tables covered in crafts and the grassy clearing scattered with misilanious items. You look at David, confused.
"What do we need all this for? What use are crafts at Dance Camp?"
The boy in the blue hoodie speaks up. Max was his name, right?
"There isn't a use for them. But luckily you're not at Dance Camp so they'll do fine."
You widen your eyes at him.
"What do you mean, 'not at Dance Camp'?"
David looks nervous but Max just laughs.
"This camp is a scam. Run by a money-loving criminal who only built this place for profit."
You look at David. Surely there's a better explanation for this. David frowns at Max.
"Here at Camp Cambell, we tend to a variety of different hobbies and interests. Everyone here has signed up for something unique to them and we will make sure everyone gets what they came for." David smiles confidently but you can tell he's uneasy.
"So, what? It's like a camp camp?" You raise an eyebrow.
"Exactly." Max smirks.
