Chapter 5
It’s past 6:00 in the evening and Jin and Miaka are on their way home riding the bike. Miaka who silently sat at the back space of Jin’s bike feel tired and sleepy, Jin didn’t say anything and only focusing the road. She tried not to fall asleep and entertain her mind about V’s whereabouts until she broke the silence.
“Is it your pet? Why did you put his grave in that place? He might be lonely.” – Miaka
“Hmmm?” – Jin was unable to catch what Miaka meant by her question.
“The grave in the cliff near the beach, it’s a lonely place. Beside, don’t you give any names on your pet? You don’t put any labels on his graveyard.” – She’s frowning as she imagined how cold and lonely the place where the grave’s located.
“For me he’s not a pet, he’s more as a… brother. Yes, brother.” – Jin.
“Ahh…” – Miaka looked at his saddened face and continue “Is it a bittersweet memories? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
“It’s alright” he cut her words. “But I don’t want to talk about it, maybe next time.” – He look at her and gave a sad smiled, Miaka smiled in return. A minute later, they reached Miaka house.
“Thank you Jin, I really have fun today.” – She said holding Jin’s right hand.
“You’re welcome Miaka, actually, I’m glad that I finally meet you.” – Jin
“Me too. So in Saturday it was a deal right?. See you soon and please take care on your way home. Bye.” – Miaka waved goodbye to Jin but before she can take two steps away from him, Jin took her hands and she only blink her eyes when Jin hugged him tightly.
“Take care of yourself too.” – He said and pushed back himself only to give Miaka a kiss on her forehead. “Goodnight Miaka” – He said and smiled before he reach his bike and drive home. Miaka stood frozen on her place where she’s standing, not only by Jin’s sudden action but also to her heart’s rapid reaction.
Miaka POV
I didn’t expect that he will kiss me goodnight, well it’s only on the forehead but still…yeah whatever. I spin myself around and run to the house as I see the lights on. Did V come home already? But then, I saw my mom leaning at the door frame, maybe she’s waiting for me.
“Hi Mom!” – I said and gave her a hug.
“Oh hi, Where have you been and Where’s V? I thought she’s with you” – Mom
“Ah… so he’s not home until now?” – me
“What do you mean?” – My mom asked and I’m really hesitant to tell her that V was gone since yesterday but what if something wrong happened to V? then mom will be in trouble, so i decided to tell her the truth.
“Actually mom, V was gone since yesterday and he did not leave any word before he went, the fact is that… when I woke up yesterday, I never saw any sign of him.”-me
“Are you sure? Oh my, where do that kid go?, Did you ask his friends if they saw him?” – mom
“Yeah, but no one of them saw him and… maybe they think that he has a date that’s why he’s gone and I think the same.” – Me
“Aigoo, is my baby jealous that V is having a date?” – Mom
“Omo, what makes you think like that mom? Where just friends and he’s not that special to me” – I said raising my left brow.
