Chapter 5: The Odds of Teleportation.

My eyes were still shut. I wasn't ready to see the sight in front of me. Even with closed eyes, I could feel Nathaniel towering over me.

"Sky? Open your eyes."

I squeezed my eyelids together, more tightly, if that was even possible. You know that moment when you pull your legs under the covers at night so that the massive monster under your bed can't catch you? That was my situation right now. I thought if I kept my eyes closed, I wouldn't have to face him. Is it too late to pretend to be sleepwalking?

"You're not gonna teleport yourself, Sky, it's impossible" he sighed, "open your eyes."

Huh, it wasn't impossible. I just needed to find the wormholes. I wish I could do that right now. Stephen Hawking mentioned them in his famous book. Has Nathaniel read The Brief History of Time? Clearly, he hasn't read that book. That's why he thinks that it's impossible.

"You leave me no choice," he sounded irritated and annoyed. I was scared, to be honest. What does he mean by you leave me no choice? I imitated his manly voice in my head, trying to cool my head with the help of my offtrack imitation. I felt him leaning towards me. What was he doing? I could feel the heat radiating from him. It gave me a tingling feeling.

My mind kept screaming, open your goddamn eyes! You have no idea what this man will do, Sky?! On the contrary, my heart waited curiously for the end result of 'you leave me no choice'. My body was on a completely different altitude, feeling hot and tingly. My nose, I tell you, is one big traitor, taking in the fragrance of Nathaniel's perfume like it was my last day on Earth. That's enough, Sky! Pull yourself together! I get that he's good looking, but you gotta remember that there's no reason for you to be attracted to him. He's not even the golden ratio.

All of a sudden, my mind went blank! All thoughts escaped my head. Nathaniel had leaned until he could peck my face with his soft lips. He kissed me dangerously close to my lips but not on them. Shock embraced me the second his lips left my face.

"What're you doing!" I opened my eyes. My heart instantly cursed the reflexive system in my body. I lifted my hands to push him, only to touch his bare chest and to successfully displace him by a millimetre. My phone fell from my hands and hit the ground. I had lost grip on it while trying to push him away from me. Electrifying sparks found their way, out of nowhere, to the bottom of my hand. I couldn't believe myself or my body. Why was I reacting this way? Luckily my reflexes were still working because I removed my hands away from his deadly chest with an electrical discharge.

"I asked you the same question," he said. His eyes switched to dark mode, and the tone of his voice implied that he was gravely serious.

Time to engage in flight mode, Sky. "Cassidy!" I shouted and pointed my finger behind him. I was bluffing, but he couldn't see through my lie and turned back to see if Cassidy was there. I took the opportunity to make a run, but I could only take a step away from him. He was quick. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him before pinning me to the wall. He got hold of both of my hands and held them against the wall at my eye level. Both of his hands were touching my hands. I was trapped. Trapped between the wall next to the curtains and Nathaniel Achen.

I tried to squirm out of his grip, but to no avail. He was stronger than me. But, his hand weren't the only ones keeping me in place, it was also his gaze that was fixated on me.

"Nice try," he chuckled. "But, I am not letting you go until you answer my questions."

I knew I was defeated. I dropped my eyes.

"I'll let go. Don't run away." He said. I nodded submissively. Taking my nod as an agreement, he let off my hands. I took it as another opportunity to run, I pushed him with all the force that I could gather. He moved a little bit, and I made the leap of my life.
